Once upon a time there was a little fox cub named Kanji. Little Kanji wasn't allowed to go too far away from her den. You see this was a problem because Kanji wanted to see the world and wanted to show that she was strong but not dangerous. Unfortunately, her Mama and Papa wouldn't allow it because they didn't understand that she was strong and self-dependent. So she was trapped having to live with her 4 brothers and sisters. They were just fine living close to Mama and Papa, but they didn't share the drive Kanji had. That's because they weren't different like Kanji. No one understood, no one but Kanji. Little Kanji who was different since the day she was born. She wanted to prove that being different didn't mean she was dangerous, but she didn't want it to mean she was weak either. Now, this story might seem like Kanji is telling it, that's because she is, I'm Kanji Fox, and this is how I got to prove that being different, isn't such a bad thing.

I was named Kanji because of my fur. Kanji a Japanese word meaning 'fire' or more specifically 'an out of control fire'. I didn't choose my name, neither did my parents. Everyone's name in the forest is given by the owls. They take one look at you when you are born, and name you based on the way you look and how they believe you will affect the community. I don't look like my siblings at all. I have thick black fur on my tummy, paws, and the tip of my tail and ears. Unlike my siblings, they have white fur in those areas. The rest of my body is a dark crimson red, Mama said the owls compared it to blood while they compared the rest of my siblings to an orange sunset. Everyone has been terrified of me because of my fur. Everyone but Mama and Papa, the say they love me no matter what. There's just one problem, they treat me like I'm weaker than everyone else. But I'm not weak, just like I'm not dangerous.
