Taking a long drag from his cigarette, Andy lost himself in deep thought.

Would I ever be free? Sure he had a nice house that he had inherited from his mother after she passed, but Andy wouldn't ever be truly free from the Book.... The Book.

Yep, he thought, i'm so screwed. But at least I have my retarded mutt, Cannabis.

Sighing, Andy blew out the smoke then stomped out the cherry of the cigarette that still glowed with life at the center of the butt and walked into his house.

"Good morning Beaufort Carolina! Today there's absolutely nothing happening! But then again when does anything occur here? Oh wait, there was a cloud spotted with a smiley face on it yesterday and today, it's raining cats and dogs! Thanks Obama! Now to you Bob!" The annoying stereo in the kitchen announced.

"Remind me to never leave the radio on the freaking news station again." I told Cannabis as I switched the station to an old goldies song. I walked across the kitchen to make a pot of heavenly, god given yumminess that Eve should have had instead of some stupid apple, coffee. I grabbed my 8 o'clock dark Brazilian roasted grounds and put two scoops into the coffee maker that then began to brew coffee. Walking over to the cabinet that held the coffee mugs, I pulled out two coffee cups while quietly humming along with some Patsy Cline song and set the mugs by the maker waiting for the brewing to finish.

Mentally going over my to-do list for the day in town, Andy began making his coffee.

Three and a half teaspoons of pure all natural sugar.

Go to the grave and put triple angel trumpets onto moms grave,

two seconds' pour of Italian Creme,

Go into dog store and get more dog food and treats,

Add the leaf of cinnamon,

Go to store and don't forget the list,

stir for thirty seconds before adding froth,

Take Cannabis out for nature trail.

Andy took a sip of his coffee and let out a pleased sigh.

Cannabis let out a soft whine and pawed at my leg wanting her share.

"Oh where are my manners? I apologize Miss Cannabis, here's your share." I chuckled and set the cup across from me and patted the seat for her to jump up and enjoy.

We drank our coffee in silence, with the exception of Jimmie Rodgers playing softly in the background.

Cannabis finished her cup off and jumped down signalling me that she was done and I then got got up and shuffled towards my study.

As Andy walked towards his study, He noticed that Cannabis wasn't following in suit, he stopped, then he heard thumping. Cannabis came darting down the hall and nearly ran into Andy. He easily sidestepped Cannabis and in result, Cannabis nose dived straight into the wall behind Andy, making himlaugh.

"Next time, you're on decaf Girlie."

I opened the the doors and faced the one thing that taunted me, tortured me. Scarred me. Cursed my whole damn family until the end of my lineage.

" I haven't summoned you, so why all of the sudden pop up and try ruin yet another life?"

Andy questioned while he took a sip of his crisp coffee. He rounded his 1800's mahogany desk setting his coffee on a saucer before proceeding over towards a small bookcase built into the wall.

Silence.

"Well, if you're here to take something that I deeply love, then take Doug the fishn I do believe that his time is coming soon, though i'm sure he can just hop out of his tank and waltz over to you and open you up. But I'm willing to test that theory...."

Silence.

Bloop

Doug the fish shot me a fishy look then swam into his pineapple.

Andy slightly coughed.

Well then...

"Anyway, since you don't seem to be in the chit chat mood- when are you ever- I'm going out and i'd rather not have some old book following me around and sucking souls out of people, so if you'll excuse me...."

Silence

"Well then, be like that," Andy paused, then muttered as he began walking away, "God, sometimes I feel like i'm going insane because of you..." He picked up his mug and began to walk towards the study doors.

Thump.

I froze for a moment, before turning around. The book had thrown its cover open and began to turn its pages. I hovered over the book as the pages kept flipping, images passing by, would flashing before my eyes. Then it stopped. The last page. My dad. His soul. everything was there on a simple yet aged page, His whole life stuck in a damn book.

Andy's nostrils flared as he grabbed the book, slammed it shut and threw it against the wall.

" You took him from us! You left me alone with her for years!" Andy fumed,

And now she's gone too...."

Soooo yeah or nah? i'm really nervous about this story... and no this isn't a fanfic by the way
