Days Later...
Riker POV
"So...?" Lexi said, walking into my room.
"So, what?" I asked.
"Tomorrow's Halloween!"
"Ok...?"
"What are you going to be?"
"Oh... I don't know. I didn't even think about that."
"Well you have to be something! You have to go trick or treating with me!"
"Ok. Well what are you being?"
"A cat. I'm painting on a nose and whiskers. And then I have cat ears."
"What do you think I should be?"
"Riker! You should be a cat with me!"
"Really? Don't you think it's a little weird for a guy to be a cat?"
"No way!"
"Um... Ok. Then I'll be a cat with you."
"Cool! Do you have black clothes?"
"Uh... I have a black shirt, but I don't have black pants."
"Alright, well do you want to go to the mall and get some?"
"Uh... Well I don't have money..."
"I know. My mom can give you some. Here, I'll go ask her."
Later...
Riker POV
Lexi had driven me to the mall. I followed her around since I didn't know where anything was. We found a store, and started looking at the pants. I found my size, and Lexi stood outside the changing room, waiting for me to try them on.
I opened the door, and Lexi walked around me in a circle, looking at my black jeans.
"Well how do they fit?" Lexi asked.
"Good."
"Great. They look good. Go take them off, and we'll go."
After we paid, I followed Lexi to the food court.
"Do you want to grab dinner here?" Lexi asked.
"Yeah, sure."
Halloween...
Riker POV
Lexi and I had gotten all dressed up as cats. She painted on my nose and whiskers. We would walk hand in hand down the street, trick or treating. We got a ton of candy, and finally went back to her house. When we came back, Lexi's parents were waiting for us apparently. And they were mad.
"Do you two know what time it is?" Lexi's father asked.
"Um... No...?" Lexi said.
"11:23. We told you to be back by 10:30, 10:45 at the latest."
"I'm sorry, dad!"
"We trusted you two to go out and be responsible. And you come back more than 30 minutes late!"
I could feel my cheeks heat up. I felt really guilty.
"You guys are grounded until next Sunday."
"That's a whole week!" Lexi shouted.
"And if you keep using that tone with me, it'll be longer!"
"That's ridiculous though!"
I grabbed Lexi's hand.
