The elevator beeped and the doors opened on our floor. I started making my way to the last door in the hall, apartment three-hundred and thirty, mine and Jessica's first home together.

When I got their and unlocked the door and went in, the house was quiet. I pulled off my shoes, hung my tux jacket up, and put my briefcase down. The smell of bacon and cheeseburgers hit my nose and made my stomach growl. A smile lite up my face once again. I still had Jessica's flowers in my hand as I was about to call for her when I heard something smash to the floor.

"Jessica?" I questioned uneasily.

I put the flowers down and looked around the apartment to see if anything was out of the ordinary, when I looked if the living room the sight I saw Jessica in tore me apart. I ran over to her just as she was about to clasp in the floor.

"Jess, babe. What's the matter?" I questioned as she started to sob. All she did was pull me closer. I held on to her tighter as I asked, "What happened, babe?"

Once again I got nothing but more crying, so I decided to let it go until she was ready to talk about it. I led her to the couch, we sat as I held on to her rubbing soothing circles on her back and mumble sweet nothing's in her ear to calm her down as she buried her face in my chest.

We Lost Control - Chapter 5

: : Talon's POV : :

Once Jessica calmed down and stopped crying, she fell fast asleep in my arms. I quickly, but carefully and gently, got up from the couch with her in my arms and headed to our bedroom. I thanked God for her not waking up once we got to the room and I put her in the bed. She looks so tired and drained.

I got her a throw-blanket from the hall closet to put over her, then went to the bathroom to take a shower and clear my head.

Today was supposed to be this amazing day for me. It was my first day of work at an actual law firm where I looked over cases with my colleagues and discuss my opinions on the matter, but no, I was late with amazingly beautiful fiancé which I later on received a call from her dad, aka my boss, telling me I had so many minutes to be their and to quite fooling around with his daughter.

Then once I got their, turns out for my punishment I have to organize about seventy to a hundred case files and enter all of them into the computer! What a great day at work at my dream job, huh?

When I'm about to leave the horrid job, I get a speech from the guy I thought of as my own father about his daughter and my job! Then to make matter worse, I had to run into my soon-to-be assistant, Claire, that will be with me every minute of every day helping me with things! How am I suppose to tell Jess about her? She already self-conscience about herself for some reason. If I was to tell her that I was working with a tall blonde women around my age every second of every day, I know she would have doubts. Not about me, but herself and if she's right for me and everything else that follows. Theirs no way I can tell her, at least not right now.
