~I'm sorry, if I seem uninterested. Oh, I'm not listening, oh I'm indifferent..~
"Here" blasted into Lejla's earbuds on the the cold, autumn morning as she sat alone in Seat 7 on her way to school. It was a Thursday, although nothing very eventful had happened throughout the week. Just the same blur, in and out of classes, work and more work. She couldn't wait until the weekend. She drew in a deep sigh, causing a puff of condensed air to come from her mouth. {Its November and the heater ins't on on the bus... so} She shoved her icy hands into her pockets and stare blankly out of the window.
~Truly, I ain't got no business here. But since my friends are here, I just came to kick it..~
The bus came to a soft halt, now on its last pick up of the morning. Lejla's heart skipped a beat as a certain someone climbed on the bus, causing her to blush a deep crimson red. Colin Bates, well lets just call him an acquaintance for now, had just arrived on the bus. Colin's face scrunched up as he realized there were not many seats left on the bus. Lejla tried not to make eye contact, not wanting him to know she REALLY liked him. Colin sighed, swiftly walking over to Seat 7 and sitting down. "There's no where else to sit, sorry if I'm bothering you." Collin's words seemed to curl around Lejla, his bright smile brought joy to her.
~But really I would rather be at home all by myself, not in this room with people who don't even care about my well being..~
"Oh, no I totally understand. Its fine." She smiled knowingly, trying to come off as an interesting person to talk to. She let her eyes trail back out of the window, as Colin was now talking to the person in the seat across from them. There was something about the smile he gave her that made her feel, well, something. The rest of the ride to school was a blur, Colin spent most of the time talking to his friend in the seat next to them, but would occasionally talk to Lejla. She would always get lost in his eyes when he turned to her, those hickory eyes. They were beautiful. Lejla didn't know why she had such a "thing" for this guy, she had only known him for a few mornings. But, I know as cheesy as it sounds, but could it be love at first sight?
~I don't dance, don't ask, I don't need a boyfriend..~
Lejla finally arrived at school, pushing through a crowd of middle school kids, to get to Locker #262. This locker in particular, was owned by one of her best friends, Paige Stephens. They had met in kindergarten, and had been friends since. She rushed over and tapped Paige on her shoulder. "Paige?" Lejla asked, as her friend poked her head from outside of her locker. "Oh, hey Lejla." Paige spoke excitedly to her friend as she grabbed some stuff from her locker."Paige, I think I have a crush!" Lejla squealed, jumping slightly up and down as Paige concluded grabbing her stuff and closed her locker. "Awesome!" Paige responded quickly, she was honestly happy for her bestfriend. "Okay, tell me right now though or I will literally decapitate you." Lejla laughed loudly to Paige's response, calming down after a few breaths.
~So you can, go back, please enjoy your party..~
"Well, I don't think you know him. But his name is Colin Bates. He's in 8th Grade and is on the football team." Lejla paused to let Paige process, then continued. "He's also on my bus, and he sat by me this morning. I nearly fainted." Both of them laughed as they walked down the hall to their first hour classes. Paige paused by the science room and turned to Lejla, opening the door but holding it open with her foot.
"Lejla, I totally ship you two."
The bell rang, and both Paige and Lejla, disappeared from the hallway.
~I'll be here..~
