Fyre awoke in a broken down chair in a musty smelling room. The carpeted floor was fraying and torn in many places. Fyre got up from the chair, his boots sinking into the carpet.
"Ahh it's nice to stretch the legs."
Fyre grabbed his sheathed sword and swung it onto his back in one fluid motion. Fyre left the small dimly lit room into a bright hallway of the barn. He felt a someone or something following him as he walked down the hall. Fyre abruptly stopped and in one fluid motion drew his sword and swung it in an arc leaving it centimetres from the trailers face."Woah man!" Ice exclaimed pointing the sword away, "you could hurt someone, and that someone would most likely be me."
"Ice don't sneak up on me like that, I almost jumped out of my skin and almost killed you. As funny as it would of looked I would prefer us both living." Fyre said sheathing his blade."Oh don't put that away yet, we have Stingers heading toward the house and they look pissed." Ice said turning around to the door.
"Ice you know as well as I do that they are always pissed constantly cause of the whole I'm gonna kill your entire species thing," Fyre replied following his friend. "Plus they all have the face that only a mother can love."
Fyre followed Ice through the front door and on the other side spotted four Stingers stumbling their way forward.
"Ok I get it their insect like bodies aren't fast but do they have to act like the walking dead, it's just such a cliché." Fyre protested as he stepped towards the Stinger furthest to the right. The Stinger lunged towards Fyre but fell each side of him as Fyre swung his sword in an upper cut motion. Fyre turned to see an arrow made of ice embed itself in a Stingers head, the scorpion like tail thrashing about before going limp. Fyre leaped over the two Stinger corpses and slashed at the last Stinger, but the Stinger anticipated the attack and clumsily sidestepped the attack. The Stinger jabbed at Fyre with its tail with blinding speed.
"Oof," Fyre said with the air leaving his lungs.
As Fyre fell to the floor Ice unleashed an arrow with deadly accuracy at the Stinger, before rushing to Fyre to help him up."Man, thank whatever deity you wish to Ice cause I'm a lucky man." Fyre said when he was on his feet.
"I'm scared to ask but why?" Ice replied questionable.
"The Stinger hit one of the few armoured parts of my outfit," Fyre said joyously. "It's reason to celebrate, do we have any food left cause it's feast time."
"Okay Fyre just let me heat up our dwindling rations when we're still a few days from our resupply point." Ice said sarcastically, walking back into the barn.
"Fine. But I at least want an extra biscuit. It's the least I deserve after you know, living." Fyre said sulking before turning around and following Ice.
