Ba-Boom

Ba-Boom

Ba-Boom

Ba-Boom

That sound was so irritating. Every thump bringing back memories.

Ba-Boom

Inhale.

Citrus and white musk hovered in the air around her.

Ba-Boom

Stupid smells. She opened her eyes, uncrossed her legs and lifted herself off the floor. She needed to use a different smell. This one was too much like him.

Ba-Boom

Dark musk and pepper. Much better. She picked up the bottle and sprayed it into the air of the dim room.

 Ba-Boom

She placed herself back down on the mat. Breathe.

Ba-Boom

She closed her eyes.

Ba-Boom

She floated in a small lake. The water was warm and the moon illuminated the surrounding garden.

Ba-Boom

A blossom tree was in full bloom on the minature island, connected to mainland by a wooden, red and white bridge.

Ba-Boom

A warm hand held hers.

Ba-Boom

No! Not him! She didn't want him here. It was her happy place.

Ba-Boom

Go away!

Ba-Boom

She pushed it away. That sound.

Ba-Boom

It was the sad sound and it reminded her of everything he did. The pain he caused. She didn't want to remember.

Ba-Boom

She shoved the sound away.

Ba-Boom

She pushed it further away. The sound dimmed. Her wilpower took over.

Ba...boom

And it stopped. And she was happier. Her body relaxed. She didn't need to take another breath. The world around her was gone.

Later that afternoon her sister came to find her. She had been meditating all day. Why had she been gone to long? She missed dinner.

Opening the door, her sister found found her sprawled on the yoga mat. Her chest wasn't rising or falling.

Her lips had turned blue.

The neightbours heard the scream.
