The restaurant closed and I climbed the stairs to my tiny bedroom, I pulled my hair up once more and I changed into a black top and black jogging pants/ i wanted to blend in with night.
I checked to make sure both of my parents were sleeping soundly, I peeked into their bedroom, happy to see both their chest rising and falling in rhythm. I slowly walk slowly back into my bedroom and open the window.
As soon as my feet softly landed on the fire escape my phone chimed, it was a text from Cheyenne.
"Cheyenne: Hey, I'm in the Ally, come meet me down her NOW!"
"I'm on my way now." I replied. I hit send and slowly made my way down the 5 stories of stairs.. I jumped off the bottom and ran to the black Mercedes that was hidden in between to trashcans.
"Took you long enough" Cheyenne turned the key and the Mercedes started to purr. I shrugged my shoulders.
It didn't take us very long to leave the city, we drove past a few shops and some hotels. both of lived near the outskirts of town and we both knew our way pretty well in the forest.
When we could see the trees getting bigger as we progressed, Cheyenne stopped the car, and gave the idea that we should walk the rest of the way. I nodded.
We walked for what seemed like 20 years before we finally stood at the edge of the forest. No one ever entered these woods. Some legends have come to tell the stories of magical creatures that live in the woods. Most people know the forest people as dwarfs.
Of course any one who has ever seen these creatures hasn't said anything about them.
we walked on the path that led into the woods, our short and steady breathe quickening. I pulled out my flashlight and handed one to Cheyenne.
SNAP!
I turned quickly, stumbling, a twig snapped and me and Cheyenne both gasped.
"I must have stepped on a branch, come on I see a light up headed." Cheyenne whispered in a calming voice, successfully slowing down my speeding heart.
I kept peeking over my shoulders, hoping to find out what or who was following us. I never saw anyone though.
we came across yet, another path and like Cheyenne had mentioned there was a light coming from a small house at the end of the road.
I squinted my eyes.
Was that house made of, of candy?
"Muff" Cheyenne moaned, I let the light of my flashlight hit here silhouette. she had ran into a mail box. I read the address, sure enough it read "123 Gingerbeard Lane".
I pointed at the mail box, then the house, signaling to Cheyenne that we were in the right place.
We both gave reassuring nods, and walked up the front step, ready to face the witch.
~~~~~~~~~~~
I rubbed my stomach from where I had so clumsily ran into the witch's mailbox. Then I raised my hand, pulled back my fist and quickly knocked three times on the witches door.
A light giggle came from the other side.
The door whooshed open making both mine and Jesse hair fly backwards. I let out a yel, while poor Jesse only looked stunned, the scream hanging out of her mouth only to be silent.
A gorgeous young girl gilded into front of the door, fog spilled out from under her feet.
But this wasn't the girl I saw in the mirror, no this witch had Long brown hair, it fell right above her floating waist, her eyes were a bright brown, and her nails were long and painted a silver color.
