"Come on Sarah," yelled Nate from upstairs "The Walking Dead will be on any minute now and I'm gonna watch it without you!"

What is it with girls getting ready for so long , Nate thought to himself. Sarah's been in the shower forever. He could hear her singing P!atd from the living room. As Nate impatiently ate popcorn Sarah made her way downstairs.

"Geesh can't you wait five minutes for me to do my lady things." complained Sarah.

"Yeah...yeah whatever come sit down." replied Nate as he patted the spot next to him on the couch.

Sarah took a sit and stole the bucket of popcorn from Nate's hand. She was dressed in a blue robe and her long blonde hair, wet and dark from the shower, flowed down her back. She wore no makeup, and her nails had worn away black nail polish. The living room was dark and they could only see the small area around the couch. Sarah and Nate always met at Sarah's house to watch TWD because her parents worked on the Sunday nights that it was played. Nate sat in awe as he saw the Sarah that he'd always had a crush on. He never told her that though.

"Nate?" Sarah said, interrupting his thoughts.

   "Y-yeah." Nate responded sheepishly.

"Do you care if I invite Chris over tonight, you know to watch TWD with us?"

"Does he have to come we always watch TWD together, it's our thing." he complained as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

It seems as though Sarah started hanging out with Chris more and more, inviting him over which led to Nate being the third wheel.

"Yeah i know but..." Sarah began.

"Whatever." Nate interrupted, as he scooted farther away from her.

A couple of minutes later the doorbell rang and Sarah ran to answer it, the ribbons on her robe flew in the wind as she did so. As the door opened Nate felt the burst of cold rush in from the outside. He heard Chris's dreaded voice say:

"Hey, baby." As he stepped in the door and kissed Sarah on the lips. His hands wandered down Sarah's waist as she gave in to his kiss. Nate ignored them angrily and continued to stare at the TV. Why does he get to have Sarah, all he cares about is getting in his pants. Nate thought to himself. If only she would realize it, realize that Nate was so much better for her.

"He's here." Nate heard Chris whisper into Sarah's ear.

"Yeah, babe we always watch it together you know that." Sarah reassured Chris.

Nate could feel the anger boiling inside him. The way Chris said his name, the way he acted like it was a surprise that Nate would be here, Chris knew they always hung out. Sarah responded like she didn't want Nate here either which made Nate sink farther into the couch. Sarah and Chris took a seat beside Nate, Chris sitting between them.

As the show reached about halfway through Sarah and Chris started making out, right beside Nate. Nate could hear the breaths they took between deep kisses. He watched as Chris's hand slid farther up Sarah's robe, trailing up her hips. As Nate blocked out the sounds of the two lovers he forced himself to fall asleep. When he woke up later on he saw he was still on the couch. The Walking Dead had ended and repeats were being played on the flat screen TV than hung mantled on the wall. He heard the ruffling and moans that came from Sarah's bedroom, which caused anger and jealously to rise inside himself again. He felt the warm tears run down his cheeks and he blinked them away. He threw the blanket off himself and ran into the kitchen to grab his keys. He ripped his coat off the rack and slung it over his shoulders. He scavenged the couch for his phone and once he found it he ran out the door. When he drove home it was night and fog covered the road like a blanket. He squinted in order to see through his tears and the fog. He felt bad for ditching Sarah but she probably wouldn't notice through being taken advantage of. Nate tried so hard to tell Sarah Chris wasn't right for her but she never listened.                                                                                                                                                                  Once he reach his driveway he ripped his keys out of the ignition. He stomped up his porch and silently unlocked the front door. He kept the handle turned as he carefully closed the door, not wanting to wake his parents up. He threw his jacket on the couch and tiptoed up the stairs. When he reached his bedroom he threw himself onto his bed in a ball of furry and sadness. He wept silently into his pillow and he felt every last tear slide down his lashes which only made him feel worse. He checked his phone and it read 3:04 am. He decided to fall asleep, as he did he let his feeling go for the night.

When he woke up he could smell bacon and eggs being cooked from downstairs. For the first time in a while he let a smile spread across his face. He stopped by the bathroom to see how he looked. He almost gasped as he looked in the mirror. Under his eyes were dark circles making it look like he'd gotten into a fight. His hair lay torn apart on top of his head. He looked like a zombie, and felt like it too. After last night he wasn't in the mood to conversate nor eat so he went back to his room and lied down. His mattress felt like heaven as he pulled the sheets over his worn out body. He was about to fall asleep as his mom walked in and said it was time to get up.

"You have to be at school in thirty minutes get up and eat some breakfast." complained Nate's mom. Nate's mom was short and chunky giving her a plum like shape. Her voice was welcoming and soft which gave Nate a warm feeling inside.

"Mom I don't feel so good, can i stay home pppleaaaase?" Nate groaned. As he said this Nate's mom walked to the side of his bed and felt his forehead.

"You do feel a little warm, and you look awful." replied Nate's mom. "I'll call the school you get some sleep honey."

"Thanks." Nate moaned, while adding in a fake cough.

Soon after his mom left the room he heard his phone buzz. It was from Sarah.

"Why did you bail on me last night :( see you at school!" it read.

Nate wanted to say so many things in return. "You were to busy making love to your boyfriend," for example. The rage rose inside him, knowing Sarah was so clueless on the situation. Instead of expressing that anger he chose to ignore it and shut his phone off. He lied down on his pillow and fell asleep ignoring all the feelings that had been expressed in the past twenty-four hours.
