Chapter Two

Chapter TWO

At secret Island

Shade's POV

When I got to the island where I promised to meet Conner I found him under a tree.

There he sat under the tree waiting for me. He sighed wondering if I would ever show up. Honestly I didn't want to but I told him I would so here I am. "Hey Conner." I said stepping out from behind the tree. Conner jumped up and hugged me.

"Love I didn't think you were going to come." He said to me. Then he went back to hugging me.

"I told you I would, didn't I?" I told my betrothed. I unwrapped myself from his hug and laid down under the tree. Of course Conner did the same. I sighed as I closed my eyes to stop tears from falling. "Are you going to miss him? Your Dad I mean?"

"Of course. I mean he was my Dad after all. Even if he was not exactly what you would call a good person." Conner replied.

"Oh....." I said looking down. "Sorry."

"What for?" He asked.

"Taking your Dad away from you." I muttered.

"He deserved it though." Conner pointed out.

"Yea he did." I smiled.

"Love tell me the truth do you hate me?" He asked as if ready to have his heart broken. I was a little shocked by his question, but I decided he deserves the truth.

"No, of course not, I don't know, I mean I guess I just......... Ugh I can't talk right now!! I mean I don't know if I love you!" I said choosing my words carefully. When I did say it though my mind drifted off to dad placing his curse on me, after what Kari did to me.

I'll explain that but that's for some other time.

"How come?" He asked saddened by my answer. I looked at him I wanted to be honest but I didn't know how to say it.

"My dad cursed me to keep me from being hurt by the actions of humanity. So the curse is I have this gut instinct, where if I don't like you that's that. But it mainly because humanity lost my trust. A long time ago." I explained thinking of Taylor, she was my best friend and we loved to prank the others. I thought of all of those times we would trick Lucifer into jumping off a cliff, getting stabbed by different people, having fun teasing Yuki about her personal stalker, talking to devil and Yuri about our next prank on Lucifer, singing with Taylor in front of everyone. As my mind went through a list of memories tears began to trickle down my face. I felt an arm stretch around me and pull me closer. I didn't feel like breaking his arm at the moment so I let him hold me. I don't remember anyone ever showing this much affection towards me other than Taylor. Thinking about Taylor made me remember the one time when Lucifer thought it would be funny to make fun of me being an angel. I did teen notice myself leaning into Conner's embrace I just remembered the painful memory.

~Flashback~

I was wearing my black leather jacket, and black combat boots, along with my dark brown pants. I don't know why but for reason Lucifer making fun of my magic and how I dressed pissed me off more than ever.

"Hey Shade what's with your outfit I thought you were angel, but that outfit seems more like something a demon would wear." Lucifer joked expecting me to laugh to.

"WHAT WAS THAT PEREVT?!"I yelled at my little brother that was now quivering.

"I said you look more like a demon than an angel, in all black." He said regaining his boldness.

"Is that so." I said as a dark aura shimmered around me. Shi, and everyone else decided it might be a good idea to take a step back.

Well everyone that is except for Taylor she walked right up to Lucifer and said. "That's fine It's your funeral." Then She backed up behind me to watch the show. I was 10 and he was 10. Yet I was about ready to kill him, I don't think any 10 year old should be about ready to kill someone.

That was the very first time I transformed in front of everyone so I decided to do my strongest one. And being a 10 year old meant that I would show off. "Heavens Guide" I called. A golden light enveloped me and released a being with long shimmering white hair and a light pale blue dress, with white wings. "I am so sorry but could you please repeat what you said?" I said angelically. "CAUSE I HEARD YOU DIRT BAG!" I said with an evil and murderous grin upon my face. Lucifer started to shake in fear of me. To the point where his knees buckled under his weight. I was young and foolish so I decided to let him live with like a few battle scars.

~end of flashback~

"Shade. Shade." I heard a gentle voice call me but it sounded distant. Then I awoke from my memory. "Shade what's wrong?" I heard the voice of my worried betrothed.

"I was just remembering that's all. Did you know it's been five years sense I have seen them?" I question as another tear dribbles down my face.

"Seen who my love?" He asked rubbing my arm gently, while kissing my head.

"My family, Taylor, Lucifer, Achnologia, Yuki, Shi, Azarith, Devil, Yuri, Mom and Dad." I said trying so hard to keep from bursting into tears again.

Now it's time for a scenery change

With Taylor on a mission to find me.

"Taylor you need to calm down this is an irrational plan. We need to think this through, she could be anywhere on the planet." Secret said in a matter of fact tone.

"I know that." Taylor said pissed. "But I don't care I am going to find my best friend."

"But how child?" secret questioned.

"I will sniff her out." Taylor said. Taylor tilted her head upward and wiggled her nose. Taylor caught a sent and chased after it until she came across a ocean.

"Now who do you suppose we get there?" Secret said In a bored tone.

"You are going to fly me over there duh." Taylor Said thinking it was obvious.

So the brunette and the little black cat set off to find and bring back Shade so their family would be complete again.
