"Hey Camz?" asked Lauren, who had the younger girl resting on her shoulder.

Camila looked up at her. "Yeah?"

"Do you love me?" Lauren inquired, green eyes staring into the brown ones of the brunette.

Camila laughed and shook her head in amusement as she looked back at Lauren. "Of course I do," she said. "Why would you even ask?"

Lauren shrugged and looked away, sighing. "Nothing."

"Lo," the brown eyed girl said, "what is it?"

"It's nothing," the older teen assured her.

"Lauren..." Camila trailed off.

"I promise, it's nothing," Lauren replied, but she couldn't meet the brown orbs that stared at her.

"Lo-"

"-Camz, not now."

"...Lauren, you know you can tell me anything, right?"

"I-I, I just-"

Lauren stopped and swallowed. She closed her eyes and sighed. It was rare for her to be insecure, especially in front of Camila. Usually, she was so confident and outspoken. She was always brave, speaking her thoughts and not shying away from challenges. But she was also human, and she was insecure. She was human and that meant she also got jealous, that she get hurt. Sometimes people forgot that, and so did she, but she was human alright.

Camila was likewise surprised at seeing this side of her. It was very rare for Camila to see lauren saw vulnerable and insecure. The older girl didn't like showing her real emotions often, and that usually worried her. She was glad that Lauren was opening up, but also upset that she wouldn't tell her more about what was wrong.

"Lauren, look at me," Camila told the older girl firmly. It was an order, not a request.

Lauren sighed, opened her eyes, and met the other girl's gaze.

"What's wrong?" Camila asked softly.

"Do you love me?" Lauren asked again, not answering the question.

Camila chuckled softly. She brushed a strand of Lauren's hair away from her face. "Yes, I do. I love you very, very much. In fact I'm in love with you. Believe it or not, I am very in love with you, to the point that it scares me sometimes," she answered gently. "Now please tell me, what's wrong?"

Lauren sighed in defeat. "I'm just jealous I guess. You and Shawn have been so close lately and I can't help but listen to the rumors." She stopped herself before she could say more. On how Camila had been distant from her and the band. On how Camila had been hanging out with Shawn everyday to write her new single with him. On how Camila had time to teach Shawn Spanish but barely enough to be with Lauren or the other girls. She knew nothing was going on, of course, but it worried her.

"Lauren," Camila said firmly. She held the older girl's chin and tilted it towards her face. "I want you to know, no, I NEED you to know that I love you. I promise I do, always. Shawn and I are friends and there is nothing going on between us."

Lauren nodded sticky and Camila let go of her chin. The younger girl kissed her nose. "I love you. Promise."

"Okay," Lauren replied, but she turned away, not wanting Camila to see the doubt on her features.

[ two months later ]

It's been two months since the two of them have been together. It's been two months since the two of them have slept with each other. Two heart breaking, soul wrenching months since they've even touched, since they've talked, since they've even looked at each other.

It's been two months since they've loved each other.

Camila slept peacefully as the tour bus drove on, her head resting gently on Shawn's shoulder. Their fingers were intertwined.

Lauren looked away. She took a deep breath and rested her own head against Brad's chest. Brad gave her a soft smile, kissing her forehead.

It's been two months since Camila broke her promise.
