I wake in a cold sweat, gasping and shaking. They are getting worse. By they I mean the nightmares. Ever since I was 5 I've had them. I am now 16 and in a month I'll be 17. I think back to my nightmare. This time it brief yet chilling and I can only piece together bits and pieces. All I remember vividly was that I was in an ocean of some sort and was just there. Not floating and not sinking. Not living and not dying. It was horrible, terrifying, and any other dreadful word you could think of.
I look to the clock.'12:09 am' I see in the too red lights. I sighed and grabbed my phone off the nightstand, knowing that I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep. I turn my phone on and immediately got blinded from by the excruciatingly bright light, which in reality is probably the middle setting.
After a solid three hours on Tumblr, I got bored and started to play Call of Duty Black ops with the volume on silent. After another three hours of that, when normal people wake up, I got up out of my comfy haven and walk on the bitingly cold floor to my closet. As soon as I open the door I was bombarded with black hoodies and t-shirts. I sigh. 'Well' I think ' at least it wasn't eggs from Don'. See Don is my prankster older step brother who likes to make me the target of his every prank. It doesn't help that my pure little sister is being corrupted into helping him. It also doesn't help that every one believes him over me. I sigh for what seems to be the millionth time and start to get my Zelda tee and my MCR hoodie with black skinny jeans.

I step into my room, my damp skin getting used to the cold air. I quickly slip my clothes on and look in the mirror. Mismatched eyes; blue-ish violet and an ugly shade of light green. Check, disappointingly. Too pale olive skin. Check. Long mop that I call hobbit hair. Check, I need to get it cut. Embarrassingly pink lips forming sarcastic smile. Check. Self-deprecating voice in my head. Check. Everything is accounted for. I walk out and down the stairs into the kitchen and grab a granola bar and a water bottle. "At least get a banana."I turn around to see my mom staring at me disapprovingly. She is looking like a stereotypical mom at night with curlers and a night gown. My mom is a fearless and beautiful woman with pale skin and violet eyes. She is perky, stubborn, kind, and selfless. She brightens everyone's day wherever she goes.
She smiles kindly and hands me a banana, " Sweet pea take it, you know I sometimes wonder how your so lanky. Anyway are you ready for sophomore year at Trake High?" She knows the answer because this is the millionth time she has asked but she still insists on asking every chance she got. "As ready as I'll ever be. I'll try my hardest, Kay ma?" She nods." Kay but don't think I won't grill you for a minute by minute of your day. Alright, my baby boy, you better get going." I sigh and as I pass I kiss her cheek and say bye. I walk to the bag rack and got my book bag. I slip my earphones as I start my trek to living hell.
