Stronger Than You

Slowly, you learned. About everything.

The more you talked, you learned about them, and the people outside. You learned about the antiviruses, and the people watching you. Although they didn't seem to know about the reasons why you were there in the first place, just as they didn't seem to know much about themselves.

You learned about them, and the abilities you posessed, and the ones they posessed. About the random facts they spewed, like how white horses are gray, and how to spell debachuary. You learned about how the talk, to deceive people without overdoing the act. Ocassionally, they would speak in a single sing-song voice, perfectly in sync.

And all-in-all, they were the strangest strangers you could ever meet. And is was amazing.

"So your powers are being restained, by me?" You pointed to yourself, and they nodded.

"Until you can subconciously bring forth the energy needed to create anything you wish, our power will be under your suggestion."

"In short, all you need is practice."

"Or to remember. Of your own accord, mind you."

"Since we can't ask you to remember... something like that so easily."

"As it is such a small thing."

"Such a small thing indeed." Jack nodded along solemnly.

You nodded as well, rather curtly might I add, but of course you didn't know it was curt.

"So, how much longer do we have to stay here?"

"As long as we need. Anti viruses are capturing the other ships as we speak. It's only a matter of time now." Beige shrugged, acting so casually.

"But doesn't that mean we're in danger?"

"Technically, yes. But I wouldn't worry about it too much."

You were about to open your mouth to ask why that was, but sunlight suddenly streaming directly into your eyes, and the sound of metal tearing filled your ears.

"Huh. Right on schedule!" Beige shouted over the noise. Strange bird-like black metal beings had the roof of the box in their clutches. Each had glowing tangerine eyes, and little top hats that, under different circumstances, you would find quite funny. Words in red were flashing in their eyes, saying 'Plague virus detected'. In metallic voices, they droned "Loading..." over and over again. It annoyed you to no end.

"Well then? You feel up to releasing our power?" Jack offered you his left hand.

"Or do you think you can handle these guys on your own?" Beige offered you her right hand.

Decisions, decisions. Which direction to take?

"If it's a birthday that's planned, then something that's baked!" They rhymed to your thoughts, and laughed at the little inside joke. Both of then look your hands, and glanced at the anti viruses.

Beige's hand was large and tough, with scratched palms and course fingers, while Jack's was unbelievably soft.

Beige's eye turned again, lapis blue. And when you glanced at Jack, his left eye was the same shade.

"We get it. You're gonna need a lot of practice before we can all reach full power. But for now, we'll take care of these weaker proxies."

"So just sit back for a bit, and watch. We'll protect you, love."

"For now, we're stronger than you, but don't worry about it. You'll get the hang of it."

Beige let go of your hand, and offered it to Jack, who quickly accepted.

"Shall we?" You missed the warmth of their hands already. The anti viruses droned "Loading complete. Attempting data recovery and virus annihilation"

"Let's shall."
