I walked out of my classroom and headed down the hallway toward the lunch room. My stomach was still jumping from what teacher said. "Your powerful. Your powerful. Your powerful." Is running through my mind like a broken record.

I walked into the lunch room late and made my way to the back table where my best friend Mara was siting chomping on a sandwich.

Mara didn't know I was a wizard but she knew pretty much everything else. My looks couldn't compare to hers, it was night and day. Her slivery blond hair falling in loose curls around her shoulder, her blue-brown eyes, spots of freckles all over her skin, her perfect five foot height. And then there is me. My dark hair in tough wavy curls different from Mara's, my dark blue eyes, my clear skin, my short four/eleven height.

I sit down and pull out my lunch, a sandwich that Auburn made and a bag of freshly baked kettle chips and also a leaking bottle of water. Well I could pick up a napkin or... 'Water spells sometimes squeak I can't have this one leak' instantly the water stopped leaking and the water that spilled onto the table and in my lunch bag reverse back into the bottle.

'Oh no.' I looked down quickly before all the water drained back into the bottle and saw some water on Mara's lap. That means...

"Um? Lace? What just happened? I mean one minute there was water on my pants and now well. It's bone dry. No stain on dry clean only pants. Did you do this?"

"Me? No I'm not powerful." I laughed and lightly punched Mara's shoulder. Well it was trying to be lightly but I ended up throwing a hard and powerfully punch at Mara. I didn't mean to. I didn't do it.

"OW!" Mara began to cry and clutched her shoulder. The last time I saw her was when she found out her brother was going to survive from his horrible flu. That in which I saved his life.

"I'm so sorry Mara!" I grabbed the ice pack out of my lunch and held it to her shoulder but she roughly pushed me away.

"Don't touch me!" She screamed at me but luckily no one heard her.

"Mar-"

"Don't! Just don't!" She picked up her lunch and stood up. She turned away but not before she whispered something that made my whole body freeze.

"Wizard. Lace your a wizard. You have to be taken care of!"

I was frozen. A stature unmoving in my seat. My best friend just told me I should be killed.

'Time reverse and freeze so I can think just this once in all times permit!' I closed my eyes, I could easily be resting my eyes but no I felt power coming on. I opened my eyes and saw everyone frozen in place. I looked at my clock. Ten minutes before the present time. Perfect.

Mara was sitting next to me with the water from the bottle spilling onto her lap. Show time.

'Time unfreeze push the memories back. We are now in the presents past.'

"Oh gosh Mar I'm so sorry I didn't know it was leaking here!" I picked up my napkin and handed it to her. She dried her hands off and then dried her pants and shirt that had gotten wet.

"Thanks Lace." She turned to me smiling. But a strange evil smile that I couldn't decode.

"No problem." I said smiling and we both laughed. Thank goodness we were both friends again, not that Mara knew we stopped.

I took out my sandwich and I started eating. Still not hungry but I needed something to do. Mar was reading a book but she wouldn't let me see the cover.

"Are you ok Mar?" I ask, she only took a few bites of her sandwich and didn't touch her fruit or any of her homemade chocolate chip brittle.

"I'm fine Lace, just nervous to start pre-training today I guess." She laughed nervously but I could tell it was fake. She was hiding something.

"Pre-training? You never told me you were pre-training? Are you going to train for cooking or for teaching?" Mara looked at me her eyes slightly looking like fire few a quick second.

"No. I'm training for-"

Just them the bell rang and Mara stood up quickly and hurried into the crowd of people walking out the door.

The was weird. To her knowledge nothing happened. I the time and turned it back. Nothing happened.

I was just standing up when I notice Mara left her book. I reached toward it and was just about to land my fingers on the edge when Mara appeared next to me.

"Don't touch my book." She didn't yell or scream. She has no emotion. Empty. Like a robot designed to speak. Monotone.

I nodded and backed away from the book.

"I said don't touch my book." Again no emotion. Only anger flared in her eyes now.

"I. I was-"

"I SAID DON'T!" Suddenly she jumped at me and grabbed my wrist in her hand. I screamed for her to stop but she didn't.

I was backing away when I saw in her hair, tucked behind her left ear, a perfect purple colored flower.

(Sorry it's so short I'm gonna make the next one a lot longer)
