"What the FUCK do you mean I'm adopted?!"
"You are not mine and Andrew's Biological daughter," She said calmly, too calmly.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU NEVER TOLD ME!" I stormed off not waiting for her answer. I was getting angrier and angrier with every step I took. I didn't bother slamming my door; I went straight into packing an overnight bag.
I threw in my favourite clothes and shoes, my essentials like a hairbrush, makeup, tampons, wallet etc. I zipped the bag shut, almost breaking the zipper from the strain of how many items were packed into one bag. I went into Lucas's room and wrote him a note which read;
"Hey Lucas, I'm leaving home forever, I'm going to stay with Ashton until I can get a car and then I'm going to look for my real parents. Oh yeah I'm adopted. And I SWEAR TO GOD if you knew and didn't tell me I will never, and I mean NEVER talk to you again. Call me when you see this, Cassy xoxo."
As soon as I was done and stormed down stairs each step heavier than the last, altering my mum, or should I say 'Sophia' that I was coming down stairs.
"Cassy, please just listen let me tell you the full story," she pleaded with me.
"No Sophia, I'd rather my mum tell me!" I said before stomping out the front door and slamming it in her lying, backstabbing face.
I began the walk to Ashton's house, as I walked down my street I pulled my sun glasses over my eyes. I just couldn't believe I was adopted, and they were planning on never telling me! I wondered what my real mother was like, if she was anything like me I could imagine why she would've given her baby up for adoption. But maybe she would understand me. And maybe dad would love me more than anything and spoil me rotten, maybe I had another sibling, a little brother or sister. The thoughts rolling around in my head distracted me from the rain that had started to splatter down from the sky. I quickened my pace attempting to make the walk to Ashton's house quicker. Within 20 minutes I was at his front door, I rung the door bell, impatiently tapping my foot waiting for anyone to open the door. After a few minutes I rung it again. After another few minutes my impatience got the better of me and I walked over to the side of the house to climb into Ashton's room.
Once I got inside I discovered no one was home which I should've known from the lack of expensive cars out the front of his house. I made myself at home lying down on his bed finding the note he had written to me this morning. I sighed this morning seemed so long ago, I wasn't necessarily content with my family at that point but at least I knew who they were and were they were. I remember Sophia mentioning someone named Anastasia, perhaps she was my mother, but what on earth would her last name be. I didn't know where to start to look for her, I needed someone smart to help me, Lucas or even Ashton would be a good help.
I decided on passing time by turning on Ashton's TV, I leant back on his bed the thoughts about me being adopted getting lost in my head as watched some old black and white film. After a few hours of binge watching TV, Ashton finally came home.
"What are you doing in here?" Ashton asked as he walked into his room, plonking himself down on the end of his bed.
"It's a long story," I answered manoeuvring my way over to him.
"I have time."
"I found out I'm adopted," I said simply.
"Wait, what! Did I miss something?!"
"My 'parents' had been acting really weird lately saying shit like 'be more like your mother' or 'I had Lucas' even shit like 'I don't think we should tell her, we will lose her forever' well you know what, they got that right!" I couldn't stop my voice from rising as I let out my frustration.
