"Hey Aris!" I wave as I pass him in the fields.

"Hey (Y/N)! What's up?" he jogs up next to me and slows down so he can walk next to me .

"Nothing really. Just looking forward to dinner and tonight. We've got the Greenie to celebrate."

"Oh that's right! I nearly forgot! Have you met her yet?"

"Yeah, she's pretty cool. You might like her."

"Nah, I've already got my eye on someone.." he stated, not meeting my eyes.

"Who??? Is it Hillary?? Or Marie? Or Maybe Gale?"

"I'm not telling anybody. I don't want things to get awkward."

"Fine." I huff as you arrive at the kitchens. "Hey Claire!! What's for dinner?"

"Potato soup." she said simply.

"Frantastic." that was something I had always said, even though I really had no idea why.

She just looks at me, exasperated, as she plops some in a bowl.

Me and Aris went and sat down at one of the tables. The two of us continued to chat until darkness falls and we hear the other girls start to cheer. "Sounds like it's time for initiation." I smirk, grabbing Aris' hand and pulling him up. He rolls his eyes at the whole thing and I turn away before I see the ghost of a smile that creeped its way onto his face.

Initiation was simple enough. Anybody could pass it. All the Greenie had to do was last more than thirty seconds in a fight with me. I had come into the Glade with an incredible knowledge of martial arts and used them anytime I could.

I stepped into the ring and faced the girl. She looked tough enough but like usual, I would go easy on her. Also like usual, the girl did it and then was led away by one of our younger kids to find a bed. This was the best part of the night. The oldest among us would gather by the fire and play truth or dare and drink. The box sent up booze every month with specific instructions not to let anybody under the age of sixteen drink it or it would stop coming. That rule was strongly enforced.

"Ok, ok. Aris, truth or dare?" Claire asked still trying to calm down after the last dare. Mal had had to try to copy a martial arts move of my choice. It didn't go very well to say the least.

"Uhhh...dare."

"I dare you....to kiss the girl you like."

"No way in hell am I kissing Griever number 4." he said with a straight face. We all burst out laughing unable to contain it any longer.

"Come on, Aris. You gotta do it."

"Alright." he tipped his drink up and drained it, probably trying to get some courage up. I watched Aris as he got up and walked in my general direction. I looked to the girls next to me, kinda surprised. As I was looking at the one on my left, Angel, Aris crouched down in front of me.

"Oh. Oh."

"Yeah." he smiled as he leaned in and ghosted his lips gently over mine.

"Screw that." I mumbled, reaching up and grabbing his collar to pull him closer.
