Living in the moment....

I warned him, Missouri judge I said, then grinned.

Each morning at 6 am I would jump down from the truck and look at the black clover. Smell, stand there, listen to the silence that was to be for only an hour more. The walk was lengthy yet so pleasurable, carnies cooking our breakfasts , horses, cows, all anticipating their morning meals knowing full well not to waste a drop, the day will be long.

Lance, my love, Moe you little devil, good morning my boys. Here is your grain! Clean stalls, hay them water them . Wrap my so appreciative arms around these precious gifts from our loving God. Yes, another day at the fair here we come.

The throngs pile in.. getting ready, me yes, annoyed before a class when I have no space, yet so happy to introduce my passion when I can. It is business, yet win or lose I love my horses and want to share them. I am not angry like so many I saw, crying like a child at 30 years old! We all win when we shouldn't, lose when the victory is clearly ours. We do this for love. If this is not true then we harm all that witness a show! Sportmanship is the epitomy of humanity. This is what makes life worth living! Being in the moment of victory and sharing joy or the tragedy of defeat and smiling congratulating the winner and sharing their happiness. Savoring, living in the moment that will never be repeated.

Yes, I did warn him. We, Lance and I won the Grand Championship, 7th time. I grinned, so did Lance, we knew. Tom was tossed a bit, I grinned again. It should have been his, I knew, but a Missouri judge, (they don't like white).

It's okay she did not like my little man under saddle. We did not really do much after that championship. It is okay, I don't mind a bit, good to realize life is about Karma, when you have won and really should'nt have you are going to lose when you really should'nt have. I love Lance, I do this for love not to win. Winnings great but the moments make the lifetme not victories. Our greatest learning and growth is born from loss, failure and mistake.

Oh the smiles from the elderly and the babies, if one could bottle that. There is no greater joy then giving joy. That I do know. The pride we have with our 2 stallions so kind, so gentle in such a chaotic enviornment. They didn't need a ribbon in the show ring, they won everyone's hearts!

Packing up, yes, now a tear, not so much at a loss or victory but leaving our friends, the visitors, the smells, the moments for another year. we will be back we say with teary hugs. Yes, this is life, Living in the moment!

Course the memories aren't so bad either:)
