Kacey grinned out at the sea of people who were screaming excitedly at her unexpected return.

She couldn't just watch the shows, so the day after she came back to the boys, she told management she needed to perform. She was losing her mind and just needed to get back to work.

Besides, for some reason, Zayn wasn't speaking to her. The other guys didn't know why, so she just attributed it to his mood swings. She ignored it for the most part, hoping he'd be over it soon.

Unfortunately, that didn't seem to be the case as the show went on. Kacey noticed that Zayn actually seemed to be pissed off, and what was worse is that his anger seemed to be aimed at her. She would catch him glaring at her when he thought she wasn't looking, and he kept his distance more than usual. He was usually by her side during the shows, cracking jokes and making her smile with his silly dance moves. They were always near each other on stage, and it severely bothered her that they weren't tonight.

"What the hell did you do?" Louis asked as Harry talked to the audience. "Zayn acts like you killed his dog."

"Don't know," she replied. "Really."

The rest of the show went on without a hitch, and when it was time for Story of my Life, Kacey spoke to the crowd.

"I just want to say, before we sing this song, that I am so grateful to all of you for helping me with this difficult time," she said. "I certainly couldn't have gotten through without each and every one of you, and that includes my five boys behind me."

The crowd went wild as all the guys hugged her, Zayn included although he didn't hug her for very long, and he had a look of anger as he pulled away.

Kacey shot him a glare before starting to sing, and decided that after the show, he would have a lot of explaining to do.

.....

She couldn't find Zayn anywhere in the hotel. He wasn't at the bar, or in his room, or in the arcade with the rest of the guys. That left one other place, a place she really didn't want to go, but if she wanted to talk to Zayn alone, she was going to have to suck it up. Besides, it's likely he went there on purpose, but she wasn't going to let him get away that easily.

She pushed open the door that led to the roof of the hotel and climbed the steps carefully, her nerves on edge due to her fear of heights. A fear she shared with Zayn but for some reason, he didn't let it stop him this time.

It didn't take her long to find him. He was sitting on a bench by the air vent, smoking a cigarette and looking pissed off.

"You really think I wouldn't come looking for you?" she asked, walking over to him angrily.

"That was the idea when I came up here," he muttered, throwing his cigarette away. "What do you want?"

"I want you to tell me what the fuck is eating you," she replied, crossing her arms. "Ever since yesterday you've treated me like shit."

Zayn didn't say anything, just looked off into the distance stubbornly.

Kacey groaned and threw a rock at his shoulder. It missed but it certainly caught his attention.

"I'm over here!" she yelled, frustrated with his silence. "Fucking talk to me!"

"Why?" he yelled back, standing up suddenly. "You don't fucking listen anyway!"

"What the hell are you talking about?" Kacey asked. Zayn had never talked to her this way. He once nearly punched Ben for talking to her rudely on the set of the Live While We're Young video. This wasn't normal, whatever it was that Kacey had done had severely upset him.
