That Beast Called Love

"I really wonder if he will come again...." A fair skinned brunette wonders this as she runs through the vast, dark forest. It would be pitch black but there are thin beams of moonlight seeping through the trees. The brunette has a long green gown with golden highlights that accentuates her curves with the elegance of a flower blooming. The young woman also has a golden tiara on her forehead that gives off the indication that she is part of a royal bloodline.

"There is no way he will come. But if I really think that, why am I running through a dark forest that is probably dangerous?" The woman smiles after she mutters this to herself. She stops running to catch her breath, but just as she does the earth shakes violently and suddenly.

"Ah!!!" The fair skinned brunette can only let out a small cry as she is knocked off her feet and hits the ground hard. While she is gathering her thoughts and wondering what happened, she hears a ridiculously deep...yet a warm and familiar voice.

"I am so sorry about that my dear." The woman looks up and just like everytime before, she sucks in her breath at the sight of him. The figure has on golden and silver armor as well as a red cape. He has golden fur mixed with dark brown instead of skin and a black mane with streaks of white and gray. The one in front of her stands upright like a man, but has the facial features of a regal lion. However, there is something so human in the lionman's hazel eyes. It is as if his eyes are glowing with their own fire in the darkness of the forest and she keeps staring into them, mesmerized. He offers a huge pawed hand to help her up. His hand seems to be a mixture of a lion's paw and a man's hand at the same time. The woman is so curious and intrigued that such a thing is possible.

"No it is really alright." She says as he helps her up.  The woman notices that he lifts her off the ground as if she doesn't weigh a pound.

"I was in a nearby tree and I got excited when I saw you. I have to remember I am heavier than a human. At first I....I thought you wouldn't come this time....or ever again." The lionman says looking unsure of himself.

"I was just thinking the same thing about. You know that if anyone finds out we keep meeting like this, there is no telling what will happen. It is forbidden." The woman says looking very sad. Her emerald eyes gaze up into his hazel ones as she caresses his luxurious mane. His sad eyes suddenly become very angry.

"I don't care if it is forbidden! I will change the laws that were set in place before my time! I am the king of my people now....for you I will do it!!" He roars the words as much as he yells them. The woman's hair is blown back as if by a fierce wind but she holds steady and calm somehow.

"You know that will cause chaos and a potential war between our people. My father is the king of this land and I am at his mercy. I am still not sure why our people have to be seperated or why there is so much hate between them. But until we know more we shouldn't take that risk." She says softly. The lionman nods, kneels down and embraces her gently.
