Chapter 4

~4 Years After Car Incident~

Gabby stood over the grave as her mother put an arm over her shoulder.

"We should go Gabby..."

She started to lightly tug the girl away but Gabby simply tugged away and walked over to the stone which her fathers picture stood out on the front of.

"Its okay mom, I'm just gonna talk to Dad real quick. "

Her voice was raw and scratchy from the wreck and had never seemed to heal, though her mother cared Gabby didn't. She liked the sound of it. It sounded right to her.

"Then at least come to the car when your done. We still have your party to have."

The women turned and headed to the car as Gabby stayed behind staring at the cold black stone.

"She's scared. . . ever since the crash she's been jumpy and even looks around like there's people following us. I think it has to to with her job."

Gabby reached out and touched the cold stone, her fingers running over it. A smile placed on her lips.

"But, I'll take care of her just like you did us. Just you wait." She lightly and playfully punched the stone "I won't cry anymore. I'll smile and make sure no one hurts mom...you saved me so if I couldn't have saved you. I'll save what you loved the most."

Gabby turned and ran off to the old junk of a car and large smile plastered on her face.

"Ready for your birthday party?"

"Just as much as you mom. Is uncle Sonny gonna show up. He always brings Cousin Roc."

They both let out a laugh at the thought of the two showing up to the party.

"Well if they do we can say its going to be a wild party!"

Her mother giggles and looked at the grave one more time before driving off. Gabby stared at the window the small smile still on her lips. She was turning Ten and everything was going fine, but she felt weird or uncomfortable even and right now she didn't understand why so she just kept her smile and decided she was not only going to five herself a rocking birthday. But everyone else too. They all deserved it as much as she did. They put up with her this long, and she sure as hell planed on making them deal with her a lot longer. Its what her dad would have wanted, and she would make sure she lived it up for him.
