"Hop in," the voice says as they roll down the window.
"Cody? What are you doing?!" I ask, surprised.
"I saw you walking home, and then it started raining so I came looking for you, now hop in," he said.
I did so, the car was warm. Not too annoyingly warm, but warm enough so I wasn't shivering anymore.
"Why'd you leave?"
I ignore him again because I'm afraid of crying more.
"Please talk," he says.
"It's too hard to explain," I say.
"I've got time," he says, turning down some random road.
"I'm dating Harry and you kept reminding me of him, and it breaks my heart that he left even though he said he will be back, and I am afraid he will never come back. There, I made it simple." I say, more tears coming out.
"If you're afraid of crying, it's okay," he says. "But wait, you're DATING Harry? Harry STYLES?!" He says.
I cry more, nodding.
"How?!" He asks.
"H-he brought me to the hospital when I had an asthma attack," I say, breathing through my gasps.
I look out of the window and see a big lake, surrounded by tons of trees. It's beautiful, even with the pouring rain.
I look at my phone and see someone is calling.
"Hello?" I answer.
"Where the hell are you Cole?!" Lucy says.
"I'm safe.." I say.
"Where are you?!" She repeats herself.
"Mascoma Lake, I'm going to a friend's house," I say.
"Promise you're not hurting yourself?" She asks.
"Promise. Lucole promise," I say, hanging up.
A Lucole promise (pronounced Lew-kohl) is something Lucy and I made up. It is our nicknames put together, and if we ever lie when we say 'Lucole promise' we have little chance of ever trusting each other again.
We pull up to a big house- well, more so a cabin. But a large one of that, it appears to be 3 stories high.
"Is this your house?" I ask.
"Yep!" Cody says.
Well, mommy and daddy have some money to spend, don't they?
"Come on, I'll show you around," he says.
He's ignoring the fact that I am crying.. Which isn't a bad thing.
I follow him into the house.
Everything is amazing, when you enter you go into a room that's there only to hang your coat up and put your shoes in.
I take my shoes off and hang up Cody's Carhartt on a coat rack.
We enter into his kitchen, everything is new. New refrigerator, a new stove, a new dishwasher, a new trash compactor, a new microwave, EVERYTHING is new, including the table.
Shortly we enter the living room. There is a giant window overlooking the lake, and right outside it is a porch.
I walk through the door, leading me to the porch. This porch is giant!
There's a couch-swing!
I run over and sit on the couch. Comfiest couch. Ever.
There's a matching swing-chair that's right across from it. On the other side of the porch there are two hammocks, both facing the lake.
