Chap 5

"I know you love me! Cause I love you!"

Nate's voice is behind me, I turn and look.

"But why do you love me?"

Nate's behind me and is getting closer until his lips are pressed against mine, in a hard kiss. I don't want him to stop.

Someone pulls him away, "What the fuck are you doing?" my dad yells at us. Then he starts slapping me.

I wake up gasping for breath and choking. I can't see anything, except for smoke. The guys are in front of me yelling, but I can't hear anything and then it's all black...

My vision starts coming back and I see a blur, but then I see all the guys huddled over me. Theres one face thats not supposed to be there, oh my god it's Nate!

"Uhhh what the fuck happened?" I mumbled.

"The fire must of spread when we were all sleeping. Nate was here and woke us up, he carried you out too!" Toby told me.

I looked at all there worried faces and I just found something good in my life. Tyler pulls me to my feet and they all huddle around me, "We thought you were dead! It was horrible." They said together.

"Oh! Just give me a hug already!" I screamed at them, and suddenly were all wrapped in a big group hug, I'm in the middle. "Okay no one can see me! A shit the whole town is here, there goes my rep," of course it's Hore. We untangle out of our hug and watch as the barn burns down to a crisp, leaving nothin behind. "Sam?" I turn and it's Nate. "Oh ya thanks for carrying me out." I say without enthusiasm, remembering my dream. I turn to face the guys who are all watching. "Let's go!" I shout at them. "Wait!" Nate screams after me.

"Fuck off man!" Tyler shoots back.

"Its okay man I'll be right back."

I walk towards Nate and ask "Why the fuck were you by the barn?"

"Because I wanted to talk to you and I always new where you're hideout was." "Well what do you want to talk about?"

"Can we go for a walk?" I look back at my friends and their watching with inpatient expressions. "Just wait a sec." I walk back to the guys and say, "I'm goin for a walk with Nate, y'all can go try to find another place to hang or go home."

"Wait!" Riley grabs my arm "don't let him try anything on you!" I wave Nate over,

"Riley do you have anything to say?"

"Ya man, don't try anythin or we will find you! And there's five of us!" With that they walk away, leaving me and Nate alone. "Well you got an army to protect you."

"Ya well I can protect myself," as I say that I notice his black eye.

"Oh look at that shiner, it's just like mine!" I say after laughing.

"So you do smile?"

"I only smile with my bros!" "You should smile more often, it's the prettiest smile I've ever seen!"

"That was the fucking lamest thing I've ever heard I started walking faster while laughing my ass off, making him run to catch up. He grabs me arm and stops me,

"Sam I think I'm in love with you!"

I look into those eyes and say, "You don't even know me!" I turn away.

"But I want to know you! So bad it hurts, whenever I look at you I get butterflies in my stomach and my hands get sweaty."

"You sound like a pussy!"

"No just someone who's in love!" he takes my face in his hands and brings my face so that I'm facing him. He leans in and then I hear, "What did we tell you?" I turn to see the guys behind me hiding behind trees. I push Nate away and run to them. "Do you need us to beat that shit?"Wes says

"No it's okay I handled it, why the hell were you following me anyways?"

"Because we knew he would try to do something." Tyler says.

"I told you I could handle it myself!" I run towards town where I remember where my bike is. Riding my bike is hard because the scrapes on my knees are freshly scabbed, and crack when I bend my knees. Finally I get home, my dads truck is gone and realize with relief that he's working all day today.
