Chapter 2

Arriving to the hospital was smooth. I know Mama K would give Nova and I hell if we didn't come see her, Nova found a parking space and we all hopped out to go see her. As soon as we walked up to the nurses station I knew it was about to be some shit just by how she ignored us to attend to her phone conversation.

"Excuse me, can we get a visitor pass to see Karen Lowe?" Kamilah asked.

The girl looked at Kamilah and rolled her eyes, " Girl, I got to go I got some TLC wannabes up at my station. I'm hit you up," she giggled and ended her call and looked at Kamilah. "What you said you wanted?" she asked popping her gum.

"Bitch ain't got no type of manners!" Nova said as she rolled her eyes to the top of her head.

"Huh,What you say? If you got something to say repeat that shit Nova." said the girl as she cranked her neck.

"Bitch, if your ass can huh you're dusty ass can hear! Shante, don't get beside yourself because you got you a little office job." Nova said mugging the girl, while Kamilah and I looked at eachother silently praying Nova's ass didn't start turning up.

"Hey, is there a problem over here?" said a fat officer as he walked up.

"We just trying to go see our mother, but she's been on her phone since we walked in." I said as I looked at the girl.

"Shante, this is the fifth complaint. Give these girls their passes. I'm sorry ladies, I assure you this won't happen again." He said smiling and licking his lip at Nova as Shante wrote out our passes and handed them to us.

"Better not. Ya'll need to be better than hiring these unprofessional ass bitches." Nova said as she walked the direction of Mama K's room.

"Hell was that Nova?" I said once Kamilah and I caught up with her.

"Yeah, you know word gonna get back to my mama and she cool with the CEO of this hospital." Kamilah add her two cents.

"I wasn't about to let that bitch talk to my sister any type of way. Plus, she was acting like that because she got animosity towards me because of that nigga Montae." she said as we stood in front of an elevator.

"Montae? Montae, talking about your so called first love? I asked.

"That's the same Shante he was playing house with? Kamilah tilt her head to the side looking at Nova

"Yep and that man wasn't my first love but my feelings ran deep for his ass but that was back when I was a little ass girl." She said as she stepped on the elevator and smacked her teeth.

"Well, fuck em' both. We about to go see Mama K and ya'll know she got a sense detector when something is wrong." I said laughing.

"Yes, let me shake this bad energy." Nova said as she shook like she had the holy ghost making Kamilah laugh so hard. All I could do was shake my head and laugh at that fool.

We stepped off the elevator and walked to room 305 and Kamilah knocked three times and walked in smiling.

"Look at God," Karen said smiling. "I was just wondering where my favorite girls were." she said sitting up so she can hug us.

"Hey mommy!" Kamilah said hugging her mom. It was always amazing seeing Kamilah and Mama K interact because Kamilah truly deserve someone like Mama K.

"Hey princess. I know my other two babies not acting stank with me." Karen said crossing her arms.

"Who taught you that word ma and you know I missed you." Nova said hugging her and sitting on the bed smiling.

"I'm not that old! I can hang girl." she said smiling showing off her two gold teeth.
