I decided to post this even though I am not done with editing because I done have much time to do editing for the next two months and I don't know how much I will be able to write either so I decided to just skim over what I already wrote and post it. When I have more time I will go back to editing it.

Thanks for reading!

Chapter 8: Conditions

~Emma's POS~

“What are the conditions?” I say. I can see the tears running down all my friends’ faces. I can see the pain in their eyes. I hate it. I don’t want others to be sad or feel pain because of me. I’m just not worth the trouble. Maybe my dad was right.

“First off she can’t stay at Amy’s house because the onetime nine years ago with your mother, Amy.  Second, she has to be put on anti-depressants and on pain relievers and be closely monitored for the first 2 weeks that Emma is on the medication.” He says staring at me. It feels like he’s trying to look into my soul and expose everything and anything from things like what I eat to what exactly happened last night.

“Why do I have to take them?” I scream trying to get him out of my head.

“It’s that or you go to the mental rehab and they force you to take them.”He explains.

“I don’t need them.” I wine.

“Ok then, explain the cuts on your arm that are about three or four days old or the almost healed ones on your legs.” He says. Honestly I’m speechless. I don’t know what to say or do. I feel trapped. My mind is telling me to run but my body won’t move. I hate the never ending  questions.

“You are taking them. You have no choice.” He says raising his voice as if to sound tough and make me know he will not back down.

“Fine, then!  Who can I stay with? Since you won’t let me stay with Amy.” I say trying to change the stupid subject as fast as possible.

“The best place for you is probably Emmet’s house. I know his family and there very nice.” He answers.

“Emmet, can I stay with you?  Please, I’ll help out around the house.” I say. I really just want to get out of this stupid, colorless hospital. The colorlessness makes me feel like the walls are closing in on me. It’s enough to make anyone go crazy.

“Non-sense!  You’re like my little sister.  Of course you can. I’ll call my parents and ask.” Emmet says.

“Emmet, no.  I must speak with your parents about it, alone.”  The doctor says, showing a more sensitive side than before. His eyes are not hardened and cold anymore. There are full of emotion and kindness.  Emmet seems so comfortable around him. It is weird. It all just feels so surreal like the unicorns in people’s dreams, the leprechauns at the end of the rainbow or even the fairies from the fairy tales.

“Ok I have to ask this.  What is your name?” I ask. It’s kind of weird he doesn’t even have a nametag or anything.

“My name is Hayden.” He answers.

“Ouh!” I wine as I try to move my arm. He really did a number on me but he never does just finish me off. I think he just thinks of me as a toy. He finds pleasure in it.

“Don’t move your arm. It’s hurt really badly. I think you need a sling and a splint for your arm.” Emmet says. I never really noticed how much he really cares about me. He always acts so tuff and acts like nothing hurts him. Yes, he’s protective but he’s protective with all of us, no just me.

“How do you know so much about this stuff?” I ask.

“When my older brother was sick, Dr. Hayden taught me some of this stuff. But that was before he died.” He says.

“Why did he die?” I ask afraid to find out why. Was he killed? Did he have cancer?

“He got into a really bad fight right be for they found out he had leukemia and he did not want to stay in a hospital. He was always very stubborn."

"Oh. I'm so sorry!" I never knew any of this its amazing that we are such good friends yet we don't even know half the stuff about each other.

"Okay, Emma you are able to stay at Emmet's house and they will go to do the paper work to adopt you next week. you can leave when you are ready."

"Someone get this IV out of my arm and help me up!” I shout.

"Calm down be patient we will help you." Emmet says shaking his head in disbelief.

"Oh, Emmet here's her key. I would give it to her but she is not allowed to go to her

house alone and I know she would." Hayden, the stupid doctor, says holding my black and purple key out.

"Come on that's my key. Give it back!" I whine trying to grab the key. I probably look like a 3 year old reach for a lollipop on the top shelf and whine to their parents to get the sugary, delicious lollipop.

"Nope!" Emmet says taking the key and walking to the door.

"Hey get back here. Don't walk away from me. Emmet!" I scream. By now I am throwing a fit like a toddler.

"Wow, Emma. Okay, Kelvin go collect her belongings and Amy help her up after I take out her IV." Says Emmet mockingly.

"Okay." Kelvin looks as if he had not slept in quite some time. I hope he didn't lose sleep over me.

"You are taking too long." I said impatiently as I mess with the Iv.

"Did she really just pull her IV out of her arm?" Amy asks.

"Yes I did. I want to leave Now!" I shout impatiently as I run out the door like a crazy teenager.

~Emmet's POV~

"Man she is going to be a handful." I say. I really need to talk to her alone. I need to tell her something and ask her something.

"No, she just really hates hospitals and she doesn't what to be here longer than she has to." Amy says.

" Well we better go find her she still needs to change." I say grabbing some clothes for her to change into.

"Or we can just let her run around acting extremely crazy while wearing hospital clothes with a one of her arms all bandaged up." Amy says.

"Amy shut up." Kelvin yells.

"Make me." Amy taunts as she gets in his face.

"Would you two stop fighting!" As soon as I yelled that I had several people staring at me and none of the people were Kelvin or Amy. So I just decided to drag them out and not cause any more senses.
