"Come here, Shitface!" Jacob, my owner, yelled at me.
I slowly trudged over due to lack of rest or energy. I looked up at him to signal that I was in pain.
He threw a glass beer bottle at me, "Hey, Shitface, Fetch!"
I quickly ran to my room & got comfortable so I could cry.
I hate my life. I kind of wish that Jacob would just kill me instead of saying that he will.
Bang, bang, bang. The front door was being hit.
"Open up." I heard a female yell.
I quickly ran to greet her. Because I haven't seen any human other than Jacob for 3 years, I was excited. He grabbed me by my neck & threw me in the trashy bathroom.
"Stay here you dirty mutt!" He whispers.
The woman yells again, "Open up, I have a whole SWAT team & animal control behind me."
"I'm coming, I'm coming!" Jacob staggered to close the bathroom door.
I sat there listening to the conversation Jacob & the woman had.
She was told an animal lived here & was abused on a daily basis. She was also told that the house was a trash pile.
She was right. I do live here. I am abused on a daily basis. This house is horrid. I can barely walk around like this.
Jacob lied to her.
"I got rid of my dog because I knew this house was not safe. Now, I have a question for you. Are you single?"
Oh, how I hate him.
"You wouldn't mind if I looked around then?" She asked.
"Of course not, Babe. Anything you want."
I heard her steps lead past me. I whimpered. I was so scared.
She opened the door & I started to back away.
"Hey there, pretty fella!" I looked in her eyes. She's here to help me. Not hurt me.
I barked & started to wag my tail.
"What's your name?" She said petting me behind my ear.
I barked twice to say "Shitface". That is the only name I know.
"Well, were going to call you 537 for now, okay Sweetie?"
I wagged my tail more.
"Take him to the car. I've got this sweet angel," She yelled into the living room, "Come on, love."
She lead me into this van & I quickly locked my joints. It's like the van that Jacob drove me in.
"Come on my Sweet." She said.
I hopped in the van remembering the sweet look she gave me.
Where ever I'm going, I know it'll be better than the place I'm leaving.
