Wow I can't believe I hadn't updated in so long! I'm super sorry babes <3
Enjoy!
“So, uh, where should we go?” I asked, attempting to make some conversation.
“It’s pretty cold; we can’t really go for ice cream, unless you want to of course.” Harry replied. He was right, of course, it was pretty cold. The air was crispy and the wind was somewhat strong. Surprisingly, it wasn’t raining.
“Nah, we can go for coffee.” I said as he opened the front door for me.
“Starbucks?”
“Starbucks.” I nodded.
We walked in a comfortable silence through the empty streets until a few fans spotted us from across the streets and started whispering to each other immediately, sneaking dirty glances at me every now and then.
“Are you ready?” Harry whispered in my ear. The girls across the street looked at me like I had killed their families. As I felt my cheeks get warmer, I nodded. Whatever, I have Harry Styles and you don’t so stop staring at me like I murdered your family.
Harry moved a bit closer to me and said:
“Did I ever tell you about the time when the lads thought it was funny to put a fake spider in my bed?”
“No, they did that?”
“Yeah, apparently I screamed like a girl.” He huffed.
“I can totally imagine that.” I laughed.
“Hey! I’m a manly guy! I don’t scream like you girls.” He opened his hands and he looked mocked offended.
“Oh yeah? Is that a challenge Mr. Styles?” I winked.
“Definitely. Ms. Marshall.” He stuck his tongue out at me.
We walked, slower than before, to the Starbucks that was behind us. Well knowing that the girls would follow us, Harry gave his undivided attention to me even though I was talking about how I broke my ankle playing soccer when I was seven. He smiled that showing-his-dimples smile that killed about 9 million girls around the world. I ignored it and thought about Blake; his deep brown eyes, his cute glasses and his golden blonde hair.
“After you.” He said as he opened the door.
“What, no m’lady?” I joked.
“HARRY! HARRY!” Three high pitched British accents shrieked.
I looked at the girls crossing the main streets. They were three girls, all with fur coats and high heels and they were running, or attempting to run with their three inch shoes. I silently laughed at their failure and looked at my own comfortable Converse shoes. Why do girls bother with high heels anyway? They are so uncomfortable.
“I’ll go in and order.” I told Harry and I turned slightly towards the door.
“No!” Harry grabbed my wrist and I turned around. “You need to be seen remember?”
“Right.” I said. Smile and be friendly, I thought as I stood close to Harry.
“Hey babes!” Harry greeted the girls with a hug like he knew them for years.
The girls said hello to him and the shorter one shyly asked Harry for a picture.
“Would you mind taking the picture?” the girl with the camera asked me. Without waiting for an answer, she shoved the camera in my hand and stood beside her friends.
“Yeah I’ll do it thanks for asking.” I replied. She shot me a dirty look. I smirked in my head, serves you right.
“Smile.” I said as I clicked the shutter button and the picture was snapped.
“Thank you!” The girl with the camera shrieked. She walked up to me and hugged me. I was taken off guard but I quickly regained my posture and hugged her back. “Back off of Harry, don’t even think about dating him because he is mine. Capish?” she whispered.
“Never.” I said through my teeth. Who the hell do you think you are?
Her smile faded and she walked away to her friends, hugged Harry goodbye, and with a dirty glance towards my direction, walked away.
Harry seemed oblivious of this exchange between the camera girl and I. “Ready to go in?”
“’Course.” I nodded and walked in ahead.
In the line to the cashier, I asked him what he was going to have.
“’Dunno, I always let Skye choose for me.” He shrugged. “She always gets me….” He struggled to remember “Ah! Hot chocolate!”
He values Skye’s opinion so much, strange.
“Alright. I’ll have Latte then.”
“Do you want to a brownie? I think you like brownies?”
“Yeah, I’ll have a brownie. How did you know?”
“Skye told me.” He shrugged. I nodded.
We waited for another ten seconds until we were called to the cashier. “You go find a seat, I’ll get the food.” Harry directed at me.
“Sure.” I whispered as I walked away. I look around the Café and walked slowly towards the windows. I chose a table for two right beside the window and sat down. Looking outside, I truly started thinking about what I had gotten myself into.
Harry Styles’ girlfriend.
Ten months ago, I would have jumped at the chance. Ten months ago, I would have given up a lot to be with Harry. I never admitted it, but I was jealous of Harry and Skye’s friendship. Like any other girl, I fancied the British boy. But when Blake moved in to our neighbourhood, I totally forgot about Harry. It just happened. I don’t know how or when or why it happened, but suddenly I started feeling butterflies around Blake and smile unconsciously whenever I saw him. Pia, when she was here, said that I fancied him. I believed her; she knew her stuff when it came to boys and crushes.
Pia, oh how much I miss Pia. Last summer, a week after Skye came back from tour with One Direction, Pia’s dad broke the news to her: she was moving back to Italy because her family wanted to spend more time there and her dad was offered a job promotion. After many arguments, fights, and yelling, Skye and I escorted a teary-eyed Pia and her family to the airport at the beginning of last September.
“Here is your Latte.” Harry said pleasingly as he sat down across me.
“Thanks.” I smiled.
For the next hour, we talked about the highlights of the football game that was on last night. Manchester United had beaten Chelsea and I was happier than ever. As it turned out, Harry was a big Manchester United fan. He told me that Niall was very sulky that night because he doesn’t like ManU and I laughed. We also pretended that we didn’t see flashes of the cameras that took pictures of us from every direction.
