Chapter One | Rose's P.O.V.
Are my eyes playing tricks on me? Is this feeling love? Am I really falling for the tall and fashionable jade blooded troll? Or is this just an infatuation? Whatever; I don't care, because I think this is love. But what should I do?, What should I say? Oh shit! She caught me staring, this can not be happening to me right now. She's walking over here, stay cool Rose, you need to stay cool.
"Hello, Rose."
Her smile made my heart melt, I smiled back. Fuck! Did Kanaya just ask me something?
"Rose? Are you?"
Play it cool Lalonde. "Oh, I'm sorry, could you repeat that?"
Kanaya let out a small chuckle and patted my head, and then repeated what she had asked, "I asked you Rose, if you were planning on attending the ball tonight?"
A ball? "Oh! I had no clue there was one tonight," I look at my feet. "Where is it to be held?" I internally chuckled at my choice of words. I only seemed this intelligent and wordy when I was around Kanaya.
"In the lab, unfortunately." I smiled,"Wow, how romantic." The sarcasm in my voice was un-real. "Ha-ha, agreed, I believe they could have picked a more pleasurable place, but I guess the lab will do. Anyways, back to the original question, are you going tonight?" I thought about this for a short while. "Probably not, I haven't been asked, I am a tad bit worried about asking who I want to invite, and I don't even have a dress to go in."
"A dress? That's no problem! I can make you the perfect one!"
I looked at her, "And how long is that going to take?"
"Not long at all! I will just need to take your measurements, and then I can get to work!" She smiled that perfect, genuine smile that gets me every time.
I stared a little longer before responding with a simple 'Okay'.
"Great! I will see you back at my hive."
I froze, wait. Did she just invite me over?
