We didn't do much that time. All we did was just go to school, come back, do chores, and go to sleep. I broke that routine and went for a walk in the woods with my younger sister after school. We called our mom and told her we we're not going to be home for a while. She said to come back before sunset. We didn't.

The woods have always intrigued me. I always felt a sense of wonder whenever I passed by, yet I always felt terrified. I always felt as if someone or something was watching me.

Anyway... back to the story. My sister and I walked on the gravel path. It got dark fast, which is the first thing I remember about that day. Of course, many stories were told about these woods.

I was young and naive at that time. The story always said to beware of ghost, cannibals, and killers in these woods. Now that I'm looking at on this, I was a fucking retarded chestnut bastard at that time.

I remember it getting dark and Alice, my younger sister, getting worried and began arguing with me. In the middle of the heated argument, she stormed off. I don't recall the details... yes... after that, I walked the opposite direction. Yes... everything is starting to come back.

When I walked the opposite direction, I remember smelling...death. A pungent smell slowly crept up in my nose as I strayed farther away from Alice. The smell was so bad, my eyes began to water and I was on the verge of throwing up my lunch.

Once the smell was unbearable, I walked back a few feet and sat on a a nearby, convenient log. I looked up at the sky with it's somewhat illuminating stars. How long have Alice and I been walking? Like a lighting blot, paranoia struck me.

A cold sweat ran down my blazing hot forehead. My eyes scanned my surroundings, without a single movement from my head. A female figure lingered on my left side, she looked lost. She wasn't.

With a combination with the sudden darkness, a silver mist began to set in. What is going on? Out of nowhere, a second figure walked towards the female figure. My heart began to race uncontrollably in my tight chest. Was I going to die? That was my main thought I had in that exact moment. Very creepily, the two heads of the figures turned towards me. What made it seem even more creepy was that no matter how slowly their heads turned towards me, they seemed to be staring deep into my soul. I bolted out of the area.

I was back on the gravel path. The same path where Alice and I walked on when we came here. I ran, or at least attempted, out of the woods. The woods never ended, it was infinite. While I was running, I noticed that I passed by the same log, over and over again. Was I going in a loop?

All of a sudden, a spine chilling scream sliced through the eerie yet peaceful sounds of the creatures in these woods. The screams sounded familiar. It wasn't until then that I realized that it was Alice who screamed. I turned around and ran deeper into the woods, towards my sister's death-like screams.

The screaming got louder and had much more horror in them. My legs push my weight further and my chest zipped through the air, faster than ever before. I was clear of  any fallen branches and rocks. I didn't trip from the smallest things like in the movies. In fact, I almost made towards my sister in time. Empathize and capitalize almost.

As I ran towards my sister, I felt a sharp pain on my side. Then another, and another, and another, and so forth. It wasn't until the sharp pain struck my right Achilles tendon that I finally tripped. Disappointment overwhelmed me, because my sister was only a few feet away from me.

As I reached to massage my tendon, thinking it was just a mere cramp, my body froze. I couldn't believe what I was looking at. There was a scalpel covered in blood, lodged into my right Achilles tendon.
