02| Meeting

ABIGAIL RAYMOND
It had been about a week since Cain's birthday party. We had spoken and scheduled and later reschedule our lunch date. I had piles of work and having lunch out wasn't an option.

It was about mid day and I had arrived at the office extra early. I had so much work to complete before Mr. Wilson arrived.

I often had many partnership offers for various companies, but more often. It benefited them rather than both parties. I wasn't about to work extra hard for someone else. I invested so much time and money to work for someone else.

"Abigail!" A voice yells from outside my door.

I groan internally. I have so much work I don't have time for this.

I listen to the commotion happening outside my office. Kate is arguing with the man before the door bangs open greeting me with my brother Joel.

Joel is my youngest and by only brother, he stood tall in front of my office door. His facial expression said anything than happy. 

"Abigail, I thought I told you to not fire Holly," Joel says. Fully entering my office leaving Kate behind.

" I am so sorry Ms. Raymond, I tried to stop him, but he barged in," Kate says very exasperated.

"It's fine Kate, this is Joel my bother. You will see him more often," I say introducing Joel

Joel looked at her from head to toe before smiling. Kate rolled her eyes before turning a heel and closing the door.

Joel turned to me, " So ?"

I groaned at him as I took my seat once again. I had caught my brother and my old secretary having sex in the conference room. It was by far the worst day of my life. Firstly because they destroyed a beautiful mahogany table and secondly because I saw his junk.

Not something I ever wanted to see.

I had to change the table, and sanitize the whole room. Yes, he did pay for everything, but I still can't bear it. Every time, I go into that room I am reminded of that day I might have been traumatized.

I fired holly because she caused me a perfectly good table, and she violated the contract she sign upon hire, which stated no relationships with coworkers. I still set her up else where with some business friends .

I knew my brother very well and he wasn't a saint.

"Yes. Oh how I wish, I could erase that memory from my brain. I never promised you anything about firing her and why must you continue to bring it back, and tormented me?" I said without looking up.

"Abby !" Joel huffed taking a seat across from me.
"I really don't care what's your option on my decision. I fired and what's done is done. This is my company brother and I decide who keeps a job and is relinquished.

he looked very upset.

"But still you should not have fired her, she said she wouldn't do it again."

I scoffed "Joel, you showing up here screaming at the top of your lungs. Shows me that you would have still had your way with her. To earn me from catching you again, and having that image in my head... Again. I fired her ." I cringe at the thought. I had never seen my brother naked.

"She left her number though if it calms you down, go get it from Kate. However, I am sure you are the last person she wants to hear from."

" Whatever, forget about her. She wasn't even good, so at what time is the meeting with this Wilson guy ?"Joel says.

"Please don't disregard women as if they are nothing in front of me. I know that mom raised you better than this. How would you feel if a man did the same thing you did to the poor girl to me ?" I tell him.
