Ninas POV
I woke to the sound of a constant beeping. My Alarm. Though still exhausted, I managed to drag myself downstairs. Gran was somehow already awake and trying to fry some eggs.
"Gran?" I said wearily "What are you doing up so early?"
"Happy 18th birthday Nina darling!" Gran replied with a cheery grin.
"Thank you so much!"
Honestly I couldn't believe she remembered. I tried to avoid the subject as on all my previous birthdays she went way to overboard. I didn't want her to out do herself again.
As we ate she kept complementing me and congratulating me on reaching my adult age. After our full English breakfast she handed my a fluorescent orange bag almost as large as the sofa!
We spent the next hour going through her gifts and examining them. Most of it was make up but other presents included pretty household objects. I suppose she was getting my house warming gifts for college. I had be excepted into to three colleges and one of which I got a scholarship for. However it would never have beaten my previous school.
I used to go to a school called Amun boarding in England. There I was placed in the house of Anubis. Me and a couple of people there had formed a group called Sibuna. We solved mysteries that were Egyptian based. However after finding out I was the chosen one and another student there ,called Eddie, was the Osirion, my born protector, I had to leave. I had heard that I couldn't be even in the same room in him without our power hurting each other and others around us. I left for everyone's safety. To this day I regret it but I knew I had to.
"DING DONG!" The doorbell interrupted my deep thourt and made my heart skip a beat.
"I'll get it" I said probably way to fast.
