"How many walkers have you killed?" The man with the blue eyes asked.

"one hundred thirty three, wait, no. That's not right, one hundred thirty two." I said correcting myself. The man, Rick, his face showed nothing but confusion, as if I had answered his question wrong.

"You count?" Daryl asked from the chair beside Rick.

"Yeah. Don't you?" I asked.

"No."

"How many people have you killed?" Rick continued. I looked down at the floor, ashamed of the amount I was to tell them. I sighed before telling them,

"Too many." Was all I knew how to respond with. I've killed so many walkers, but I counted in hopes that if I kill five a day, maybe everyone does too and they'll be dead soon, all of them. Hope, that's all I have now in this world.

"Ye count how many walkers ya killed but not the amount of people?" Daryl questioned.

"Killing walkers is like a game, killing people is a travesty. I don't wish to know how many people are dead because of me." I told the man with the crossbow over his back.

"Why?"

"Why what?" I asked the blue eyed leader.

"Why'd you kill all those people?" He asked.

"They were a threat to my survival." I told the man. It was true, every word I told them. All the people I've killed, I did it to survive. I killed my best friend, I killed her so a herd wouldn't get me. Shot her in the foot and sprinted away. I  wouldn't dare tell these people that. I wouldn't tell anyone that.

Rick nodded his head and stood from his seat. "Carl!" He called. The blue eyed boy came walking out from around a corner, no doubt he was listening to the whole thing. "Find our new friend here a cell." Rick said, glancing over at me with a smile on his face.

I looked over to see a wide smile on Carl's face as well. Great I'm getting a cell. What this man doesn't realize is I don't plan on staying here, It will just fall down in the end.

"Rick." The man looked over at me, staring, waiting for me to continue on. "I don't plan on staying long." I told him.

"Stay as long as you want, you're safe here." He said, showing his strangely white teeth.

"But see, that's where you're wrong. This place, you, you got a nice thing going here for you and your people. However, those walls out there, they won't last. whether it's from walkers or people, that thing will come down."

"Wha' do ye know? Yer just a child." Daryl said, obviously annoyed with my comment.

"Let me tell you sir, I've been in many groups, many different places, every time you think you're safe." I laughed a little before continuing. "Every time you think you're safe hell breaks out. You never expect it, but it comes, it always does." I told that redneck trash, that thinks just because I'm a kid, I don't know shit.

"Well what would you suggest?" Rick asked. I stared at him, no one's ever asked me that before.

"I suggest getting the hell out while you still can, but you aren't going to do that. So, maybe make an escape route. A way to get everyone out when you have to."

"If we have to." Rick said, correcting my statement.

"No, when you have to."
