Chapter 2 Fire Burns

David's wife's name was Cleo, she had two kids, but they turned into a living I guess that's what she meant by " I'm going to the ones I love". And what I meant by that wasn't the best thing because after one shot a lot came. That gun shot, well a living heard and it's like follow the leader when one comes they all come. Livings were everywhere we all split up, I was stuck in the middle then a mans hand grabbed me. Luckily it was Kevin he yelled run to the van I nodded my head and ran, but a living grabbed me I dropped my gun when I was in the middle. So I had to kick it off but it didn't work then Antonio shot in off as he pulled my hand into the van. Kevin hoped into the front and drove away as fast as the van would go. But I could still hear the screams and flesh tearing in my head.

Antonio asked everyone in the van if they were bit mostly everyone said no, the only ones that were bit are Brad and Jessica so Antonio just threw them out. I sat there almost petrified that he did that. I looked at him in a sycophant way. He yelled what the hell are you looking as I was still  petrified a woman named Susan said "leave her alone she scared and your only making it worse " . Then sat next to me. Antonio just had a angry look on his face. I when to the front where Kevin was and asked were are we going he didn't answer so I when to the back of the van. He was just doing that because he has know idea where to next so he didn't want to make me worried. I sigh trying to think off the positives, like that I'm alive but that's a blessing and a curse. Because we weren't going any where I decided to take a nap. I woke up about 1 hour later but we were still driving, Antonio said to stop the car, as he saw somethings behind the trees. He said to everyone one to get out of the van. We followed him to a building that he saw. He saw a mansion but it was infested with livings, but apparently had a under grown panic room.

We ran for the panic room most of us seceded, the others didn't. Anyways the panic room had food and water Antonio said that now this is were we live. Every one gaped with relief as we got settled in. Antonio was talking to Kevin, Kevin looked at me and mouthed come here. I went there they said that I'm one of the strongest teenager so every time  there going to fight the living I would come. I nodded as I took the gun. I was scared but excited. I just told myself that I should think to survive. Kevin took my hand and said that it's time to fight. In my head I thought they must be testing me, I'm not ready I yelled. But Antonio just push me. It's like they couldn't hear me. Then I woke up, but I was surrounded by the living. Then I hear a voice saying wake up. I woke up gaping for air. Kevin asked what's wrong I said still gaping for air I had two nightmares at once. Then Antonio said inception with saying after you were right Kevin she is special. Looked confused as they both smiled at me.

I don't understand, Antonio said don't think about it. It will come to you. Kevin I asked what does Antonio mean? Kevin didn't answer which made me even more scared. But everyone else knew exactly what he meant. They had a fearful look on there faces. When I went to bed, when I woke up I was in the front of the mansion. I knew Antonio didn't like me and would turn his back, but Kevin I didn't think Kevin would turn his back on me. All they gave me was a gun and some bullets. I pick them up and ran before a living saw me. I told myself that everything is for a reason. I ran to a house. I heard a knocking and kicking from the door I went to the small peeking hole I made. It was a girl I opened the door grabbed her then slammed the door.

I put a gun to her hear and ask if she was bit, she said no. I lowered my gun. Then asked her age and name. I'm Ruby and I'm 13. Ruby had medium ombre hair and hazel eyes. I told her that what she was wearing wasn't going to get her far. I want up stairs and got blue jeans, boots and a ocean green shirt. As I also handed her a gun. I told her that we didn't have time to chitchat and ran. We found a safe spot.

When winter went by we got out to find other humans. As we headed out there was livings everywhere then a boy just appeared out of know where, he said no time as he shot some livings we ran to him and he took us to his group. There's too many he said then grabbed our hands and pulled us underneath and rock. I whisper who are you, he whispered I'm Chris. He ask us who are we. I said that I'm Emma and she Ruby. He smiled at me as he checked if the coats was clear he said run fast, we ran while following him. When we got to his group I saw someone that was I knew. It hit me, it was Antonio along with Kevin the guy that saved me then through me out to die. Antonio sighed Emma so nice to see you again. I didn't buy it and just said did your throughout anyone else. He yelled Emma we do not take that kind of tone. I said with a smirk on my face is that so because last time we met you " used that kind of tone" all the time. Along with trying to kill me!

Emma, Ruby whisper following with this is a chance for us to live descent don't blow it. I said fine but I'm only doing it for you. Anyway Chris said there with me. I'll take care of them . Thank you Ruby said as I just nodded my head. I'm so sorry Ruby said, no worries Chris reply everyone has some bad history with Antonio. I'll say. They both laughed. Chris ask what happened with me and Antonio. I replied well first he send me to die then said I could stay but then kicked me out and left me to die. But I didn't need him anyway. They laughed again. Chris said that at night we take 30 min shifts like before and were not allowed to go out at night it's forbidden. That's new I said. Ya he just added that rule. Ruby asked if any livings are out there. Chris said no or so I think. At night I saw Christ go out of the tent. When he left I followed him. He went to Antonio and Kevin. He was talking to them. Chris I told you not to find her I even showed you a photo of her, can't you just kick her out again. Kevin said ya I guess. I got angered as I ran back to the tent. Chris came back too. I thought were are not spouse to go out of are tents. It's not what it looks like Chris said. I knew you couldn't be trusted. Your were just going to kick.

I woke up Ruby and told her what Chris, Antonio and Kevin were say as we went out of the tent and were pare you going to go Chris asked. I yelled making sure everyone could hear " away from here were your, head masters because they're just gonna kick us out" everyone got scared. I also yelled " you better just kill your self before it's too late".  Antonio and Kevin yelled at everyone to go back into there tent. Chris look scared, then I hear Antonio screaming at him. Look what you did now everyone and everything we've been working on down the drain. He shot a gun so some livings would come when they did Kevin back everyone up but Chris, Antonio was pushing him towards the livings. Closer and closer. He was face to face with a living. I told Ruby to hide behind a tree so we could see what was going on. Chris was basically right in front of him. The other humans were just watching doing nothing about it. Chris was just making it worst by yelling. Like I said noise attract the living. Ruby and I keep watching. I gap. Then.
