Chapter 1
"Wooooooooo!" I screamed as I stand on my surfboard catching a huge wave. I throw my hands up and loose balance then fall face first into the salty water. I come up and retrieve my board then join the others on shore.
We were in our usual beach spot in Virginia. We come here every year with a bunch of friends and my dad's old beach house. The beach wasnt crowded with many people. Occasional people walking up and down the beach. "That was narly Amy." Will slapped my hand as I walked up to my group of friends.
It wasnt the usual group this year. Of course it was my best friend Jamie and her boyfriend,Dex. Then it was his brother,Leo, who was a grade ahead of us. I invited my cousins,Will and Lillian. They were twins the same age as us. Then Dex's friends Alex,Matt,Billy,and Gary. Then of course we had to invite Gary's cousin,Kelsey, and Alex's new girl,Betty. I was good friends with Kelsey and her sister who I invited,Bella. Who was one year below us. So 13 people counting me. And we all loved to surf, which is the main reason I invited them down here and I come every year. Luckily none of them were strangers so we are having tons of fun.
"Come on lets go inside. Its getting dark." Jamie purred to Dex.
Dex nudged her off. "No way Jam, the nights only young! We gotta set out a fire tonight."
We all groaned not wanting to get eaten by bugs all night. "Dex is right, we have bugspray. And we havent set out a fire since we got here." Will sounded pretty excited to start up a fire tonight.
"We have been here 2 nights Will." Lillian spoke up.
Will rolled his eyes. "Anyone else in?"
We all nodded except Alex and Betty who went inside without saying a word. I sat down on one of the three long benches set out in the front of the beach house. Kelsey,Lillian,Jamie,and Bella sat with me as the guys got the wood to build a fire. "I have a feeling this is gonna lead to some truth or dare." Betty stated.
"And thats a bad thing?"Lillian giggled.
"Yes, I have a boyfriend!" Jamie spoke slapping Lillian's arm slightly.
"Well we dont." Kelsey looked around at all of us.
"Jam, its not our fault you have a boyfriend and ruin all the fun." I shrugged and felt Jamie's shoulder nudge me.
"Thanks for the help." Matt stated throwing a handfull of wood in the middle of the benched and sat down,panting.
"Oh no problem." I stated laughing at him.
Just then Gary and Dex came up with handfulls of woods and droppef them down as well. "Ill get the lighter." Kelsey stated and went into the house. Just then Dex and Billy came with wood as well.
"I think we have enough wood to last us a life time." I laughed and everyone joined in. I looked around all the benches and noticed Leo was nowhere in sight. I got up without saying a word and went inside. I walked into the living room and saw him watching tv on the sofa. "Leo, you comin?"
He looked up at me with his peircing blue eyes and curly,dirty blonde hair. "Nah,fires are for pussys." He shurgged and turned his attention back to the tv.
"Leo, you suck the fun out of everything. Just come outside and join the rest of us. Please." I plopped down on the sofa next to him.
"Why do you want me out there so bad?" He asked turning the channel on the tv.
I shurgged my shoulders. "We need more people out there. Alex and Betty are upstairs doing god knows what."
He groaned and shut off the tv. He looked over at me and rolled his eyes at me. "Whatever you say your majesty." He bowed down and put his hand out.
