"Have fun at school, honey. See you later," said my mom as I left our house.
I went to the bus stop that was literally right in front of my house. I listened to music while I was waiting with a few others for the bus that'll drive us to hell.
It was my first day at my new school. I just moved here, to Winter Springs in Florida, because my mom and her boyfriend found a 'prettier house'. I don't know what was wrong with our old one though- I liked it.
And I liked my old school and my friends. I really did not wanna move here.
But now I'm here, waiting inpatiently for the bus and being way too scared about this whole thing. I'm actually not shy- once I get to know someone I'm weird as hell. But I don't know a single person that goes to my school.
After a few more minutes the waiting finally ended and the yellow school bus stopped in front of us. I went in after two girls and sat down in the middle row. It was dark inside the bus and outside too- since it was 6:30.
So I just leaned against the window and closed my eyes. I was told that the bus ride would be 20 minutes long so why not use these 20 minutes properly and sleep?
-
"Hey, girl-" I heard someone say. It was a raspy, male voice. I opened my eyes and looked up. "We're at school, you were asleep so-"
"Oh god, thanks for waking me up," I smiled tiredly and stood up. I couldn't quite figure out what the guy looked like, since it was dark in the bus.
But as we got outside I saw his beautiful blue eyes and brown hair. "Uhm- I have a question. Where- Where's the guidance office?" I smiled shyly. He was handsome and it was making me very nervous.
"Oh, you're new here?" he asked and I nodded. He smiled and said: "Well- since school doesn't start 'til 7:15 I could just walk you there?"
"Oh, that uhm- would be nice. Thank you," I smiled and walked next to him to wherever he went.
"So- why are you here? Are you a freshman, did you move here?" he asked and didn't stop smiling.
"No, I'm a sophomore. I went to Lake Mary High School but we moved here this summer so my mom thought it would be better to send me to a new school," I shrugged my shoulders and he nodded.
"Did you like Lake Mary?"
"Yes- I loved it. I mean I've only been there for my freshman year but I really liked the teachers and my friends an-"
"Are you sad that you had to leave?"
I smiled and said: "Obviously, I told you I loved it there!"
He laughed and said: "Yeah, right. That was a stupid question, sorry."
After 2 minutes of walking he opened a door and let me go inside first. I just quietly said: "Thanks" and waited for him to guide me to wherever we had to go.
"I'm Louis by the way. I am a junior," he turned around, winked at me and kept walking.
"I'm Leah."
He kept walking in front of me and didn't turn around whilst saying: "Nice to meet'ya Leah."
I laughed and said: "You too. Where are you from? You sure as hell don't have an american accent."
"England, Doncaster. We moved here when I was 14."
"Wow, that's exciting. I've been to England before- London, Eastbourne and Brighton."
"Aye, that's cool" "Aye"- that was cute. "I don't like Eastbourne though. My cousin lives there."
"Why? I think Eastbourne's pretty. Okay, London is way prettier, but-"
