Broken: chapter 2

Dans POV-

The ambulance and police arrived. I stood there awkwardly being...well me. A police officer shook my hand and I nodded in response. I looked over to see an ambulance person checking the girl's head for bleeding and another moving the man to a stretcher. I felt the urge to make them leave him there or inject him with deadly poison. Something to compensate for the fact of what he tried to do. The disgusting pig. Okay calm down Dan, don't get upset.

There is people gathering round. I now don't want to be here. I want to run away...what have I gotten myself into??

The lady attending to the girl straightens up and says "she's fine. We're taking her to the hospital to be safe. It's obviously a very traumatic experience for her."

I swallow heavily and run a shaky Hans through my hair. The police man says

"Are you coming in the ambulance young man? Of course, need to ask you a few questions regarding, you being a witness"

"Yes ill go. Will I be on trial?" I say still in daze about the whole thing.

"It is a possibly that in some time, the victim may press charges against the offender"

Would you speak English please?? I thought to myself. I mean, obviously he was, but I got confused! I was terrified. And if I was scared then think how it must be for her when she wakes up. Concerned isn't great enough a word for my feelings...

I got into the ambulance and saw her laying on the stretcher. I sat down opposite the member if staff. She gave me a friendly smile and said in a low Scottish accent, "Cheer up lad! You did a great deed today"

I gave a weak smile and looked down at the unconscious person. I actually own now can take in her beauty. Her now pale skin is faultless. Her face is heavily made up with make up but I don't think she needs it. I have nothing against makeup, it's kinda cool actually but when some wear it to "cover up" all they're doing is hiding true beauty.

Her hair is an extraordinary colour. I hope it's natural because it literally took my breath away. I can't even think of the proper colour name for it. A coppery light brown with tinges of golden blonde, running through her long waves. If that makes sense. Well done Dan, you know hair colours *mini applause*

She has the slightest touch of very light freckles on her cheeks and nose making her look so adorable. Her top half was covered with a blanket to make her decent. Even thought she'd been so close to a smelly old drunk, I could easily smell a scent of sweet violets (not in a creepy way)...

I long to see past the black lashes. I want to see her eyes, to take in the fullness of her gorgeousness. To stare into the orbs and clash my boring brown with her...whatever colour she has. It doesn't matter what colour because I'm smitten.

Woah woah dan, she could have the worlds worst personality and you have literally not spoken to her or even been face to face with a conscious her. You're far to easy to fall in love...no! Not that word! You have a tiny crush lets leave it at that okay?

She's suddenly moans softly and the black flickers open. I lean back into my seat and the ambulance lady turns around. The girl is dreamy for about half a second before panic captures her features.

"Where am I? Who are you? What's happening?" She says quickly, her breathing unbelievably fast paced.

"Shh dear, lie back and relax. Everything's fine. You're in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. You passed out." The lady replied calmly with a warm smile.

The girl blinked at her, it looked as if the memory was coming back to her as her mind began to focus. The beauty turned her head to look at me. I suddenly feel a bit self conscious. Not worthy of her look.

Our eyes meet and hers widen. I can finally see her eyes. A glance alone is enough to intoxicate. Her inky black pupil, lined with a deeper blue, fading into lighter blue with a tinge of green into a deeper one around the outside. I've never seen such eyes.

She looks astonished and pulls the blanket over her face. As soon as I can see her, she's covered away again. She holds the blanket like a child with a comforter. It is literally the most adorable thing I have ever seen.

She slowly peeps over the woollen edge and shuts her windows tight again. Like a game of peek-a-boo. I half smile slightly unsure if I should come up with some witty comment or hug her or something like that.

She seems amazed that I am still here. Confused and feeling alone is what it may come down too. She doesn't say anything but I think she recognises me.
