Beep. Beep. Beep.

Max groaned as he reached over to turn off his alarm clock. Six o' clock...he sighed as he sat up on his bed, rubbing his eyes. Another day was awaiting for him at the office, but he wasn't in the least looking forward to it. He was supposed to have a meeting with Bond and M. Mallory...God knows how much he despised the man. Everyone who was involved in the 00 programme, really. He honestly couldn't believe how a whole nation was counting on a bunch of agents for its safety. He got up and dragged himself to the bathroom, taking a quick shower before brushing his teeth and getting ready, leaving his house at exactly seven.

8:30 am

Max knocks on the door of M's office, wearing his cocky grin as he steps inside, eyes instantly laying on Bond.

"007...It's a pleasure to finally meet you." He says, shaking his hand.

"Likewise." He replies with a kind, perhaps /too/ kind smile. "Congratulations on the job. I guess I'm going to call you C from now on."

"Oh, please don't. Just call me Max-" he tries to protest, but James has already cut him through mid-sentence.

"No, no, no. C it is." He says with a smirk before giving M a nod. "I'll talk to you soon, Mallory." He says before walking out of the office, shutting the door behind him and leaving Max standing there with a frown.

"Hm...interesting." He murmurs to himself, clearing his throat as he turns his attention back to M. "So. Shall we get started?" he says, taking a seat in front of his desk.

"Of course..." M nods, sitting down. Just when he's about to start talking, there's another knock on the door. He looks up, frowning. "Yes?..."

Moneypenny opens the door, peaking in as she speaks. "006 is here to see you, sir. Shall I send her in?"

Mallory frowns, giving Max a look. "Would you mind if I get this? It's important..." he trails off.

"Oh, no, not at all!" Max shakes his head, actually quite intrigued by this female agent.

Mallory nods and Moneypenny leaves, another woman stepping into the office after a minute. "M!" she exclaims as she sees him, raising a brow as she spots Max. "And who is this, then?" she asks curiously, shutting the door behind her.

"Max Denbigh, the head of the merged MI5 and MI6. Basically, our boss." Mallory mutters the last part under his breath, rolling his eyes discreetly, but Max doesn't even notice him. He's too busy staring at the female, his jaw almost dropping at how gorgeous she was. He stands up quickly, holding his hand out to her. "Pleasure to meet you, um..." he licks his lips as he tries to buy himself some time to remember her name. He had taken a look at her papers just the other day, but was unable to remember the strange name of Gaelic origin. "..Eily?" he finally says, hoping that he got it right.

Her facial expression hardens ever so slightly as he mispronounces her name, rolling her eyes, a sigh escaping her lips. "It's Eidligh...and it's pronounced as Ay-lee." She remarks before pulling her hand away, walking forward to take a seat across Mallory.

Max is left still for a few moments, a dark blush spreading across his cheek as he finally snaps out of it, sitting back down on his seat, murmuring an apology to the female, but her attention was turned to Mallory. He watched her closely as she handed in all the info on her last case, passing a couple of folders over to Mallory. He takes a quick look at them and listens what she has to say before he dismisses her. She then stands up, giving him a curt nod before heading to the door, completely ignoring Max until his voice suddenly echoes through the room.

"Miss Eilidh." He says confidently, straightening his upper body as he addresses her.

She furrows her brows, definitely not expecting him to talk to her. She slowly turns around, giving him a puzzled look. "Yes?"

"Please come by my office tomorrow. Ten AM." He says in a formal tone.

"Why?" she asks instantly, almost snapping at him.

He raises a brow at her rudeness but he can't deny that it only makes him feel even more interested in her. "I'm meeting up with all the agents in the 00 programme. You are the last one I haven't seen yet." Of course, that was partially true. He did meet up with most of the agents, but that was only to scold them for wrecking tons of Q's equipment.

"Fine...I'll be there." She nods. "See you tomorrow."

"Tomorrow." Max repeats, grinning madly as he looks her over.

Eilidh clenches her jaw at that, quickly leaving the office and slamming the door shut. She hated his cocky attitude. All she wanted was to wipe that arrogant smirk off his face.

Max chuckles at her reaction, licking over his bottom lip before turning back to Mallory. "So...where were we, then?"

1:47 am

Max laid down on his bed with a sigh. This day had been...a sort of revelation to him. He couldn't get that agent out of his mind, his thoughts always returning to her in the most inopportune moments of the day...like this one. He curled up to his pillow, closing his eyes as he brought her angelic face back to his mind, falling into a peaceful sleep, even there counting the hours until their next meeting.
