"Wake up sleeping beauty, time to go to school." I turned my clock around, Seven o' clock exactly. I stuffed me face into the pillow, I did not want to get up.

"Can I just have five more minutes please?" There was a moment of silence until Franklin burst in and started tickling me."Aagh, sto000p, I have to pee!"

"Well get up then, you're gonna make us late for work." I got up quickly and raced to the bathroom. I'm waiting for the day he realizes I'm too old for the "tickle monster".

I took a quick shower, got dressed and brushed my teeth before I went to go and check on Josie.

"Good morning Mom," I said kissing her cheek.

"Goodmorning Diana. Someone's got a birthday coming up I see."

"Yep, yep. The big sweet sixteen, the chance for you guys to spoil me to death and I'll have no problem with it," I smiled.

"I bet," she laughed."So, if you could have one thing, one very special thing for your birthday, what would it be?"

I've thought about that simple question for a while now. There are so many things a teenager could possible want to make their birthday special, but my wish was simple...

"I want to know about my parents, my birth parents."

Josie froze for a second. I had never brought up my birth parents before, even after the first time I had nightmares about it. Josie and Victor had probably assumed that it was about monsters or something when I was a child, but they never asked what scared me so much to talk about. Now my dreams have all been about my father since Victor left and for some reason I had a feeling that he was alive somewhere. Whether he's looking for me or not, I needed answers that only he could provide for me.

"Josie?"

"I'm not sure if you're ready to know about your parents, Diana."

"Why not? For as long as I can remember I've dreamt about meeting my parents, and I don't want to get too old to the point where I completely forget about them. They're apart of who I am just as much as you and Franklin. At least tell me where they are and why they couldn't take care of me."

"Can we talk about this some other time?"

"Fine." I grabbed my backpack and headed out the door behind Franklin and Josie followed us.

Shortly after the divorce we moved uptown because Franklin got accepted into a college there. I had no problem with it because Steven and I got accepted into the high school close by. After Franklin graduated, he got a job as a pilot at the local airport. To this day I'm very proud of him, he even helps Josie with the bills which made a big change in our finances.

"Diana, I was thinking about getting you a car for your birthday since you'll be taking driving soon." See what I mean?

"Omg, YES! Yes! A thousand times yes!"

"Okay, I'll get you a green beetle. How's that sound?"

"That's not funny," I scowled. Him and Josie burst out laughing. They had jokes today.

We pulled up in front of my school and I noticed Steven and a few of my friends waiting for me.

"Have a good day at school."

"Have a good day at work you two," I said giving them both a kiss on the cheek before exiting the car. I didn't know what has been going through Josie's head since I told her what I wanted for my birthday, but I hope I didn't upset her.
