In the quite town of Hartville New York, Alex sat by the creek with her pen in her hand, and a thousand things on her mind. Summer was almost over and she was starting her sophomore year at Westlake High School. She knew that starting over will be hard, she had lost her mother 2 years ago and her father couldn't stand being in a place where his love wife was murdered.

Everything Alex had was her mother's, and her mother was everything to Alex. She helped her through those middle school drama days to being sick on a winter night. Alex wants everything back, she even lost her friends because she didn't want anyone to feel the pain she did. She wanted her and father to be happy that's why she agreed to move. Everything felt like it was right to leave but she had a feeling that it would only get worst.

As I walked in the doors everything looked as if I was a foreign country. And I was the outsider. I had a sickness in my stomach because I was scared already messing up on the first day. I walked down to the office to get my classes. But I had no idea where it was or if I would get lost in this school on the first day. As I turned the corner I ran in to someone, he was on his phone and wasn't paying attention.

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry," I said helping him get his books.

"Its fine, ha I'm worried if I hurt you," He said.

"I feel okay," I laughed, his eyes met mine. "I'm Alex Heart, I'm new and I'm trying to find the office."

"Hey I'm Matthew but everyone calls me Matt," he paused, god I  was in love with his eyes. "oh and you're going the wrong way. It is actually over here." He pointed to the big doors by the library.

"Oh thanks, well I'll see you around." I waved and we went our own ways.

As I stepped in the office no one was at the front desk so a stood there and waited. It was a pale room and very serious, if you looked out the window all you could see was miles and miles of empty space. Then a lady came out, she was tall and thin with her black hair pulled back in a high bun.

"May I help you?" she said in a calm voice.

"Um... yeah I'm new and I need my classes for this semester," I said trying to act calm.

"First and last name please," she said sitting down.

"Alex Heart." I said.

"Okay here you go I'll have a student take you to your first class." She said and pushed this button on the desk. "Please send Jasmine Miles to the main office."

After a few minutes she came in, she was wearing jeans with a few holes and a Fall Out Boy T-Shirt on. We walked out of the office and walked down by the library. When she stopped.

"What's your first class?" Jasmine asked.

"Um art class," I said.

"Okay and don't call me Jasmine, I like to be called Jazz."

"Oh, are you in to music?" I asked.

"Yes I have my whole life. Here's the art room. Good luck." She said and walked away.

"Thank you!" and I walked in to my first class of the year. Hoping not to mess it up already.
