The wails of the newborn baby echoed across the room. Whispers arose, and the sounds of others crying joined the baby's screams.

"She's beautiful, My Highness." The queen looked down fondly at her baby girl. The corner of her eyes crinkled as her mouth folded into a smile.

"Yes, she really is," The queen responded quietly. As the king joined her and their child, he gently carrassed the infant's cheeks. Many of the maids left the room, letting the family enjoy their peace. Even the baby's sobs quieted down, soon turning into a giggle. But the soothing serene was not for long.

The doors were slammed open with a loud bang.

"Y-your highness! They're here! Intruders have come, and they're aiming to kidnap the princess!"

The silence had been disrupted. Chaos soon filled the room.

"Quickly, My King and My Queen. Please come with the princess to the safe room!" The tired queen gently scooped her baby up as fast as she could, racing through the door, the king right behind her. But they were too late. The grinning intruders' maniac eyes looked down at the king and queen.

"Well, well. What a cute little princess isn't she? Just perfect." The queen's breath hitched at her throat. Her wide eyes slowly came in contact with those of the intruder's. As the knights came and started fighting with the intruders, the king tightened his grip on his wife and his eyes hardened.

"Run." The king's voice was quiet. The queen's terrified eyes looked at the king. She clutched her free hand onto the king's arm.

"N-No. No no no no no! You can't do this! We were going to be a happy family. A peaceful and happy family with--"

"RUN!!" The king was desperate now.

"Do this for our baby! Please! I promise I'll be with you soon." The king's soft eyes looked down at the queen's, and he put his hand on the princess's head. The intruders were winning. Almost all the knights had been killed. With one last kiss, the queen ran away with her baby in arms.

The baby once again sobbed, as if she knew what she just lost. The queen soon joined her as she went on, further away from her loved one. But the queen was a mother now. She took a deep breath.

"It's okay, my sweet one. We will be alright. Shh. Shh. There's a good girl." The baby's sobs quieted down and the queen smiled down at her.

"We're going to b--" The queen's voice stopped abruptly and her eyes grew wide. A lost servant boy ran up to her, only to find that he was too late. A stray arrow had buried itself deep inside the queen's chest.

"Oh, no. My highness! Please remain here. I shall fetch for a doctor!!" But as the boy turned to leave, the queen grasped him on his sleeve.

"I...will not...make it. Please...please...take her." The queen breathed heavily. She handed her baby to the servant boy. The boy's wide eyes looked at her.

"It's okay. Just...t-take her to...uh...the safe room. Please! Go...Now!" The boy stood up. And slowly started to back away.

"Faith! Her....name is Faith! So...she will never...lose...faith! Always believe! I love you!" The queen's last words echoed throughout the hallways as the boy raced away.

Her name was Faith.

The kingdom was in her hands.

Princess Faith.

Ruler of Adelaide.
