Chapter 1

Laylah

Bed, stay in bed
The feeling of your skin locked in my head
Smoke, smoke me broke

Day drunk into the night

I turned off the alarm , and looked at the clock 6:05. *Sigh* It's time to go to this jail of a school. I got up and brushed my teeth and washed my face.

"Laylah help!" Daken screamed.

"What?" I screamed back.

"Help me find my shoes pweaseeee pretty pwease Laylah."

"Fine Dake."

His speech just keeps getting worse and worse. Ughhh, now I have to find something to wear. Nah , nope , nada , nah, ewww , okay definitely none of these.

I looked up to see Skylar calling me! I miss her so much this new school ain't getting it for real! I picked up the phone to hear Skylar yell...

"We Finna Turn Up! Yessss!"

"I know right, but guess what?"

"Travis told me last night that he can't see us being together and he just wants to be best friends."

"Wow.... so he just... well Laylah, it's up to you now."

"I know , I know Skylar, I just don't get it!"

"Lay cheer up your going to be fine, this weekend I got you."

"That's a bet, but okay I got to go take a shower and get ready, love you Sky talk to you later."

I walked in the front to find Daken playing with his Despicable Me minion toy. I took my shower, got dressed, and grabbed my bookbag.

"I Love you Dake, see you later!"

I called out while hurrying to kiss his forehead good bye, and ran out as fast as I could. First Day of school for the second time ... (and my last).

I took my oh so precious time to walk to this bus stop. Ugh, it's sooo cold outside, they should just cancel school for real. When I got to the bus stop I saw a whole bunch of kids.
He's cute, she looks stuck up, and I like her style. My mind rambled on while Kevin Gates Wish I Had It, played in my ear.

This short, buck tooth girl, who had a low toned voice aprroached me.

"I'm Kyla, what's your name sexy?"

"The names Laylah."

"You got a big booty lil mama!"

Okay, total stranger danger, I slowly backed away. So, as Kyla continued the conversation I learned she was 15 turning 16, she loved the color pink, and she was bisexual. Well that explains that earlier.
I heard the sound of the bus approaching and got on when it came to a sudden hault. Once I was seated I knew Kyla would sit right in my seat.

Fifteen minutes later, I got off the bus and walked through this long hallway to the cafeteria. Lord this school has a enormous amount of kids.
I turned around to someone kissing my cheek and telling me they miss me. It was Mackenzie, God did I miss her! It seemed like years since I've seen her.

I told her about what happened with Kyla this morning.
As we were waiting in line, she told me to be careful because she doesn't trust her. Mackenzie should know me by now and know she's not telling me nothing I already don't know. We finished that talk off by elaborating about her weekend.
We sat down at the table and talked about the weekend, my plans, and the ever so lovely bell that chimed in our ears.

Now off to class I go. I walked in the class and found my teacher sitting in her desk.

It was quiet, I sat in the chair dead center of the class, and peered off to look out the window. This guy approached me, his name was Devin or "Daddy" for you lil mama is what he said. I laughed, then remained quiet, he was a cutie.

I learned a couple names and some things about France I didn't know. The bell rang to change classes and Devin stopped me in the hallway.

"Hey lil mama I didn't quite catch your name."

"I didn't throw it out there, but it's Laylah," I replied bluntly as if mad.

"What's wrong pretty girl, I just wanna get to know you that's all."

"Well, if you really wanted to get to know me you wouldn't be staring at my body so whatever Devin, Thanks for the lie."

He would have thought, if he was thinking I was going to hook up with him on the first day, nahh, got the game messed up. I left Devin looking as if he was devastated and he was grasping for air. I met up with Mackenzie and I told her about Devin, and she just laughed.
