Chapter 1

Caleb's POV
My alarm clock beeps with madness as I wake up from my slumber. I stretch and pound my fist on the alarm clock, turning it off. I walk my self downstairs, and my mom has some waffles sitting on the table.
"Morning Caleb!" She says and smiles.
"Morning." I say groggily.
I shovel my waffles into my mouth, and see Annie is already awake and ready to go, she's doodling on a piece of paper. I go back upstairs, get dressed, and brush my hair and teeth. I go back downstairs and get my shoes on, and grab my backpack.
"Another boring day at school." I whisper to myself.

Sydney's POV
I wake to the sound of my mom shaking me.
"Sydney wake up! Your going to be late!" She says, practically screaming in my ear.
"I'm going, I'm going." I say rubbing my eyes.
I pull on a sweater with some leggings and my Ugg boots. I go downstairs and see my mom has made pancakes, I grab one and sit on the couch, ripping pieces off the pancake and shoving them into my mouth. Then I go upstairs and braid my hair, and brush my teeth. Then I go back downstairs and grab my backpack. I sit on the couch checking social media, until my mom says it's time to go.

Caleb's POV
I give my mom a quick hug and walk out the door. The bus stop was only 30 feet away from my house, so I usually walk. I stand there, until I see Jake walking on the sidewalk.
"What's up man?" I say bumping him in the side. "Nothing much dude." He replies. Me and Jake have only been friends since the summer, when he moved in the neighborhood. A few minutes later I see the big yellow bus coming down the road. I pull the straps of my backpack a bit tighter. I walk up the steep steps and grab a seat in the back next to Jake. On the way to school we talk about baseball and Nikes. The next thing I know, the big yellow bus is pulling into the schools driveway.

Sydney's POV
"Let's go Sydney and Luke!" My mom calls. I get up and walk to the car. Luke always calls shotgun, so I automatically plant my butt in the backseat. I strap on my seatbelt and stare out the window. I use my finger and draw shapes on the window, to me it's entertaining. I go on my phone and check my text messages. I got one from Kennedy. Kennedy has been my best friend since the 2nd grade. She's awesome and I love her so much. Her text says 'Meet me at the front doors, we have to talk!' I reply with, 'Alright, be there soon!' I think in my head, 'I wonder what she wants to talk about?' Then the question faded. Our car passed the sign that said the schools name. I grabbed my backpack and watched as all the kids flooded out of busses and into the school. I also spotted Kennedy. My moms car stopped and I got out.
"Bye mom!" I said. I shut the car door. 'Here we go!' I say in my head.

Caleb's POV
I got off the bus and walked into school. I went straight to my locker and grabbed the books I needed for first period. Then I went straight to Luke's locker. "Hey dude!" I said. He nodded at me and smiled. "Sup man?" He said. Luke looks at his watch. "Gotta go to first period!" He says, walking away. I look at the clock on the wall, I have got 4 minutes, I say in my head. I walk to Jake's locker and we talk more. Then I hear the warning bell ring. 'CRAP!' I say in my head. 'I have to get to first period! Mr. Rogers is going to be so mad!' I start running when I accidentally run into a girl, knock her books, phone, and earbuds, out of her hands. She immediately gets down and starts picking them up. I get down to and help her. Then our eyes met, and I couldn't stop staring.

Sydney's POV
I run up to Kennedy and she smiles at me. "Hey Syd!" She says. "Hey!" I say. "What did you need to talk about?" Kennedy's eyes widen. "OH MY GOSH!" She says. I look at her confused. "What did you need to tell me?" I ask. Kennedy grins. "Do you still like Caleb?" She asks. I blush. "Yes!" I squeal. Kennedy says, "Maybe he will put you as his Woman Crush Wednesday!" She squeals back. We both smile. The warning bell sounds, and I run from Kennedy, and I point at the watch that's on my wrist. She nods and I run to my locker. I grab my books and start fast walking to first period. Then I see something out of the corner of my eye. Caleb crashes into a girl, and knocks her stuff on the ground. I gasp a little, but I watch. He gets on the ground and helps the girl pick up some of her stuff, she's on the ground to. They both get back up and make eye contact with each other. To me, it's seems like they stayed like that for about a million years. The girl smiles and turns away, blushing big time. Caleb smiles the widest I have ever seen him smile. He turns the other way too. I look down. I really like Caleb. I keep walking, but I can feel tears in the back of my throat.

by the way yes, I am aware that caleb sadly passed. i pray for the family every chance i can. i hope you can all do the same. this book is meant to honor caleb, not to bring up his death. thank you for your respect.
