Dear Father,
I miss you dearly and wish you were here as always. Whenever anyone asks me where my dad is I tell them on a long business trip like you told me to. Whenever they ask me when you’ll come back I tell them I don’t know. And that is the truth. So let me ask you this question, When are you coming back?

I’m sorry to have to tell you this but as my duty as a father I must answer your every question, I may never come back. I may never see you again and that itself puts a hole in my heart. I wish it were not the truth, I wish I knew when I would come back and even more I wish to see your beautiful face. Tell your mother I love her.

Mother is dead. There were men. Big men. They had guns. When they came in I hid. I was scared. Mother walked up to them and asked them to leave. I turned my head and heard gun shots and a scream. Then they left. That was only a little while ago. I don’t know what to do. You know I never loved mother. She was a witch. So if you don’t come back I will be alone. Forever. I am leaving the house so do not be alarmed if you come home and do not find me.

Tears fall from my eyes. Your dear mother has passed away and now you are alone. Why is it you never loved her after all she did to raise you? I shall never understand how a child could hate their parent even when they are dead. I loved her and I still do. But now you are my worry. I will try to get home my dear child. No matter how long it takes, no matter how much pain I suffer, I swear on your mothers dead body I will come home to you.
