Chapter 7: Veronica
I ran a hand through my hair as the bouncer, Dave, a 6 foot 4 scary looking guy on the outside but a teddy bear on the inside, smiled at me as I approached and opened the door, much to the protests of the people standing in the long line. I gave him a quick cheek kiss, careful not to disturb my lipstick.
"Welcome, Vero!", He said, causing me to lean back and wink at him. As I entered the club, in my black heels and a really fabulous strapless silver dress, I had never felt so confident and sexy. I had this dress especially designed for me and I am proud to say this, that I rock this dress!
I glanced at the club's interior. 'Reverb' was the biggest, hottest, most happening clubs in the world. It had two floors. The lower one had your basic DJ and dance floor and bar, while the upper one was only for VVIP and had only sofas for sitting down with an assistant waiting on you.
Before I could do anything else, like go to the bar and engage that cute blonde, who was looking my way with a smile on his face, in a conversation, a voice rang out through the huge speakers.
"Hey people are you enjoying yourself?" DJ Cerra, one of my good friends, asked, and the crowd burst out in cheers. "Well, we got a special person in the house tonight!" Excited murmurs could be heard from the entire club. A spotlight was switched on and it started to move over the bodies. Whenever the spotlight even stopped for a second on a person, gasps could be heard.
"So ladies and gents," Cerra said, after a few seconds of suspense, "say hi to the Queen, the dancing Queen...VERO!"
Then, suddenly, my world went bright as the spotlight landed on me and the applause deafened me.
I smirked. Who cared about guys. It is my time to shake the dance floor.
