Weeks flew by, and before I knew it school had been in for two weeks. I had two classes with Alyssa, and one with Matthew, art, which happened to be one of the two classes I had with Alyssa. Every day he walked in, and went to his seat, but when I felt eyes staring at me and Alyssa as we did our work, usually drawings, I knew it was him. It had only been two weeks and so far, Alyssa and I seemed to be the art teacher's favorites in our group. Mainly because we were the main two that put effort into our stuff.

Matthew may of been one of the favorites too had he not been staring at me the whole time. He hadn't tried to talk to me yet, and even if he had, I already had a boyfriend. Though I wasn't too interested in him really. He was sweet, but he had a reputation of cheating, and I could play the game better if I tried, and I damn well was going to. We had been together for a week when I saw him kiss another girl. A grin crossed my face, not even a bit of anger consumed me. I simply just went and found a guy I knew had been crushing on me, his name was Jake.

When I found him I went up and didn't hesitate, I just kissed him, and made sure that I put all my effort into it, knowing that Randen would walk up to find me at any given second. When he saw he doubled up his fists and punched a wall. I smiled and told Jake I'd see him later and left him with a huge grin on his face and walked out of the school grinning.

That night I ended things with Randen. I called him and when he answered all I said was "It's over baby, oh, and tell the girl you were kissing I said hi.", then hung up. Alyssa sitting next to me laughed along with me. I was now single, and hoped that maybe this would give Matthew the guts to come up to me.

My wish came true the next day as he walked beside me; I kept a straight face as I ignored him, knowing it had to be driving him crazy. Finally he said, "Jannessa... um I was wondering...," I looked over surprised as if I hadn't seen him beside me, "Oh hey Matthew, what's up? What is it?" I asked, knowing where it was going. "Well... I just wanted to ask you if maybe we could be like... well, if we could be friends?" he was practically pleading as we walked from art class. I put on a thoughtful face, then said in a teasingly voice, "Well... I suppose we can be friends, but just so you know I'm not the girl I was last year, so I'm not into your type." he looked defeated and inside my head in laughed knowing this was only the start of my revenge. "Oh, okay", he said then we parted ways as he went to his class and I went to mine.
