"Errghhh !!" I let out a frustrated growl for the millionth time in the past hour.
In my 17 years of life , I have never been late to school and now I'm going to be because of my useless so called genius brother Eden.
"If you are not here in two minutes, I swear I'm going to castrate you alive, Eden!" I threatened my arsehole excuse of a younger brother who takes longer than any female species to get ready to get to school.
"I'm ready pumpkin"I practically grinded my teeth together in annoyance as he sung-screeched that in his most high pitched sing song voice.
"Stop calling me that you ogre!" I smacked his head when he reached the bottom of the stairs while he gave me a smug smile in return saying "Well you love me anyway"
God must hate me so much that my car refused to start and decided that its the best timing for it to take some tour to the workshop! In the midway of grunting and swearing, Aden started dragging me towards the road.
"C'mon, I don't think it'll be that bad walking to school..not like we haven't miss the first period,though." Aden said making me sigh in response.
While walking to school which is just ten minutes away,I realized this place isn't that bad after all.I'm just lucky that I decided to throw on a sweatshirt and my washed out skinny jeans along with my converse.I can never imagine walking with anything other that my comfy clothes in this cold atmosphere.
Since my mom is very busy with her directing work,she left me and Eden in her bachelor sister,Stephanie's house. Aunt Stephanie will be out most of the times as I and Eden are always left alone at home. Our father left us when Aden was two. I'm also partially thankful for that because as far as I remember,there weren't a day that my mom and dad were not fighting or arguing over things.He never visited us since then and my mom decided to be single as well.As much as she wants to be single,Aunt Mel,my mom's best friend and Steph will always find a way to set her up with blind dates despite my mom's protests.
Speaking of Steph,I can say that she is one of my favourite person.She puts a roof under our heads and also manages to be the coolest aunt for us that my friends envy of.Even though she will be out most of the time due to being the owner of a salon and a boutique, I'm kinda happy that she never left us starve. She would keep 50 bucks at the counter table everyday for our expenses and also never left the fridge empty. That,I'm very grateful for.
Soon as I and Eden reached school, we went in opposite directions to our classes since I'm 2 years elder than him.The hallways were empty as expected as its almost middle of the second period. As I entered the class,luckily there was no teacher so I silently slipped under my seat ignoring the stares I had been given including from my best friend.I whisper-yelled at Meredith who's sitting beside me to stop staring at me while she just grinned and shrugged her shoulders.I glared at her and made a quick scan around the room for Aren and frowned when he's nowhere in sight. Soon, Mrs.Jean scurried into the class with a stack of papers in her hands. Meredith mouthed me a "We need to talk" before turning to face our chemistry teacher. Mrs.Jean could be as friendly as she can and transform into a cannon ball in matter of seconds. So no one in my class dare to miss her home works or even dare to speak in the class. She could be that intimidating and you don't want to be in her bad side.
As our chemistry class started, I let myself to absorb as many knowledge as i can.
"Class,please sit with your partners now.We are going to prove the theory of crystal salts so each one from your group please come to the front to gather materials and apparatus for your experiment." Mrs.Jean finally said after few minutes of theory.
Since almost everybody knows my relationship with Aren,we didn't get paired up to be partners in chemistry lab because of what Mrs.Jean claims will not be appropriate in class.I was paired up with Danny,a cute and lean guy with curly hair and pale skin who wears a thick rimmed glasses that surprisingly suits him well. He is one of the nerds in our school,quiet and socially awkward but I kind of became his friend since we gotten paired up for chemistry. He is actually cool when you got to know him.
However,i can't seem to look unbothered by the absence of Aren. Well,who am i kidding ? Clearly I entered the class with a slight hope to see Aren after the intimate moments we shared two days ago and not Danny even if he gives me cute smiles every time he sees me. Not like I hate him but ya'll get the drift,right? But there he was looking at me with his thick specs and wide smile with a tiny shade of blush colouring his cheeks.
