"Shawn?" I whisper, unsure if he's awake or not.

"Yeah babe?" He answers me.

"I was thinking that maybe we could go out tonight," I suggest, turning on my side to get a good look at him. "We haven't gone on an actual date in a while."

"That's true, we haven't. Where do you wanna go?" He asks me, putting his hand to my face, the pad of his thumb brushing my cheek.

"Surprise me?" I say as more of a question, twirling a piece of hair around my finger.

"You got it," he smiles. He looks at the time on his phone and then shoves it in his back pocket. "It's 4:45 now. Can I come pick you up at 7?" He asks.

"Perfect," I nod.

"Alright," he says, scooting out of the bed. "See you at 7," he tells me before placing a kiss on my head and leaving the room.

I wait until he's gone before finally getting up, going downstairs and locking the front door. I walk back up to my room and hop in the shower. After bathing and washing my hair, I blow dry my hair and then tie it in a bun.

"What to wear, what to wear," I speak to myself as I walk into my closet. I'm not sure how formal or casual this date is so I decide on a red dress with a black leather jacket. I put some light make-up on and then throw on my clothes. I curl my hair and pull a little bit of it into a bun towards the front of my head. After putting on a little extra lipgloss, I slide on my black heels and a few necklaces, then head for the door.

It's about a five minute wait before Shawn shows up. "You look beautiful," he pecks my cheek.

"Thank you," I smile. "You look very handsome," I fix the collar on his dress shirt.

"Thanks. The cab should be here in a few minutes," he tells me.

We talk and laugh for a bit and before I know it, the cab shows up. Shawn opens my door for me and slides in on the other side.

"Where to?" The cab driver asks.

Shawn hands him a piece of paper with directions on it and the driver takes it in his hand and nods.

"Where are we going?" I ask him.

"It's a surprise," he smirks.

"Yeah but you can tell me now."

"You'll see when we get there," he says.

I roll my eyes playfully. "Fine," I sigh.

It doesn't take long to reach our destination. As I feel the car coming to a halt, I look outside the window to find a medium sized restaurant with valet parking and beautiful lights hanging outside. Shawn thanks the cab driver and takes my hand as we walk into the fancy restaurant.

"Hi," a perky waitress smiles at the front desk. "Table for two?"

Shawn shakes his head. "Reservations under Mendes," he tells her.

"Oh. That'll be right this way, Mr. and Mrs. Mendes," she says, beginning to walk in front of us.

"Mr. and Mrs. Mendes?" I whisper.

He winks at me with a charming smile and I giggle.

"One day," he tells me with a serious face, as if he's absolutely certain.

I smile. "One day," I repeat.

"Alright, here you are," the kind lady gestures to a dim candle lit room with the most beautiful, massive chandelier I've ever seen. And right below it sits a round table with a white table cloth and a red one over it. The silverware is wrapped in white napkins next to small white plates. Two wooden chairs are tucked into the table, which is surrounded by red and white rose pedals. The whole set up is so elegant and quaint, I can't help but feel like I'm in an old black and white silent film, only I get to see the brilliant colors and hear the sound of my breath being taken away by the scenery.
