Pokémon Cobalt

Part 1: Goodbyes

I had woke up this morning very excited, today was my tenth birthday! This meant me and my Shinx could finally go on an adventure and beat the Pokemon championship! He was excited too, I guess he could see that I was excited. I ran downstairs and drank some Miltank milk, as I always do in the morning, and then I ran to my Mom's room to wake her up.
"MOM! C'mon get up I want to go and get Dave and Carter, they've been waiting for me to turn ten so we can all go on an adventure!" I yelled to my half awake mother who was quite angry by my sudden intrusion, but I saw her slightly smile at my enthusiasm.
"Oh ok Jack, go and get your friends." My mother said ending her sentence so she could go back to sleep. "BUT COME BACK AFTER THEY GET THEIR POKEMON!!" She yelled after I ran out the door, of course I would, I had to say good bye.
I ran to Dave's house first, he lived right next to me, we have both lived in Sandgem town for our entire life so we were good friends. Carter lived in Twinleaf town, we always talked about his town, thats where the champion started his journey.
He came upon Dave's house and rang the doorbell, Dave had never had any Pokemon but his dad had a Machamp that would help him around the house, it was like a part of their family.  About thirty seconds later the Machamp came to the door and used one of its four arms to open it, when he saw me he looked happy, we had met before, he let me inside and went to go get Dave.
Once Dave came down he gave me a high five and called for his parents, they came downstairs and Dave said his goodbyes, after that they left the house and walked outside.
"So what's the plan now? Professor Rowans home is right over there." Dave said as he pointed to a nearby science-ish looking building that was placed next to the Pokemon Center.
"We have to go and get Carter, we just have to use Shinx if any wild Pokemon show up." I said while looking at the nearby patch of tall grass and hoping it was full of wild starly. But Shinx doesn't know any electric type moves. I thought, so maybe we should try our hardest to avoid the grass, if we encountered a Pokemon we could always call him...
We walked towards the nearest grass patch, we walked through very slowly and tried to avoid the bigger patches. We were quiet, like we were taught, and after enough quiet trudging we made it to Twinleaf town. We walked over to the first house on the right, that was Carters home.
I ran up and knocked on the door, Carter had a small Houndour that Shinx liked to play with so he looked very excited. The door opened and we saw Carter come through the door.
"Hey guys, let me say goodbye to my mom and then we can leave to Sandgem town" Carter said as he walked up the stairs. Shinx and Houndour were running around and pushing balls off of ledges, just baby Pokemon stuff. Carter wasn't  going to bring his Houndour, this made Shinx very sad, but he gave a little thunder shock goodbye as we walked out of the door.
