Angela~

She huddled in the corner of the room, her glazed eyes staring at nothing. She was rocking back and forth, hugging her knees to her chest. I could hardly hear the words she whispered seemingly to no one.

"Shadow... death... children... coming for... what did I do?..."

"Come here Amanda. It's ok. Time for lunch. Mac 'n' cheese, yummy yummy." I whispered to her.

I had just met the newest patient at RidgeWood Psychiatric Institution, Amanda Onde. Her parents had dropped her off here yesterday, crying like they all do. Truth is, she needed serious help. I was to be her care-taker.

She silently stood up, staring at me with black, unseeing eyes. And I don't mean blank. No, her eyes, iris and all, were pitch black. She slowly shuffled forward. Her tangled hair down to her waist snagged on the corner of a chair. She just yanked her head and continued on.

Why did I always get stuck with all the bad ones? Megan's patient doesn't give her any trouble. He acts almost like a normal person most of the time. Megan's always had all the luck anyway.

Things continued as a normal day in the life of a patient. Amanda went through it all in a daze. She spoke only to herself about shadows and demons. Finally, it was night. After I saw her into bed, I started to leave her room.

"Stay..." I heard a weak whisper. I turned and sat down in a chair. I would wait untill she fell asleep...
