Unmasking The Twelve

I knew Xiumin would end up paying for us so I just slung the backpack around me securely as we ran out the store. Tao was already halfway down the escalator and he ended up jumping the rest of the way down and I smirked placing on my mask that was hidden in my back pocket.

'This is gonna cause some attention.' I thought and ran jumping over the second floor railing an as soon as my feet made contact with the floor I heard a scream as I tucked and rolled and stood up unharmed. That's when I remembered the reason I jumped in the first place... Tao. I bowed a little before facing the way he was running and chased after him. I watched him carefully as he ran out the mall at full speed. That's when I heard the roar of an engine and I knew exactly who it was for. I sped up and when I got outside I saw Tao panting right in the middle of the drop off (the place right on front of the mall's main doors where a car can drive past). That's when I saw the black car speed up and I panicked.

"Tao!" I yelled and lunged for him pushing him out the way just in the time leaving me right in the car'a path. Then... It hit me. Literally. I braced myself for the rest of the impact as it sent my body twirling over it and I could hear the windshield crack under my body. Even through the pain I could feel the smile on my face.

'Heh. Guess I can't let them die...' I thought happily as I felt my body hit the pavement. I coughed and tasted blood so I forced my body up and spit it out my mouth only to cough up more. I heard my name being yelled as I sat there wiping the blood from my mouth shakily. Black spots started to fill my vision as I felt arms wrap around me.

"We've gotta get her to a hospital!"I heard someone yell and I shook my head.

"No... No hospital...." I mumbled and I felt the arms shake me.

"Stay awake... Helps.... Coming...." The voice said, but it was growing distant.

"No.... Hospi-" I started, but the darkness was consuming me and the blood filled my mouth completely leaving me breathless.

Tao's POV

I held her close to me letting the tears roll down my face.

"Tao! What happened?!" I heard Kris's voice and I looked up at him pulling her closer to me.

"S-She... A car... S-She saved m-me..." I said in between deep breaths and buried my face in her hair.

'It's all my fault...' I thought as a pair of medics took her away from me.

"Tao let's go." Kris said pulling me up and I nodded numbly an we headed to the ambulance.

"Who are you to her?" One of them asked as I stared at her body blankly.

"We're her brothers." Kris responded and they let us in.

Kris's POV

When we sat down Tao grabbed her hand, fresh tears running down his face.

"It's not your fault..." I said taking out my phone.

"It was supposed to be me.... She pushed me out the way... Now look at her... It is my fault." He said and I dialed Xiumin's number and told him everything.
