A/N why hello fellow fandoms, so I know we haven't updated in you know, five million years but we finally did :) ~ Victoria
Chapter 4
I step out of the car, and I don't think I've ever been more amazed in my life. It smells different than the cement box we call home. I look up to the sky. It's pitch black, but there are these odd white dots in the sky and a big white orb floating above them all. It seems like... like... magic. 'Is the sky always this color?' I think. Also, the heat isn't unbearable. It's better than I've ever imagined.
"It's night time," I hear Ashton's voice, as smooth as silk, behind me. I turn around to find the disturbingly good-looking techie leaning on the vehicle with his laptop under his arm. He pushes his glasses up, framing his marine eyes, and cocks his head to the side while narrowing his dark grey eyebrows. "Listen, I apologize for being rude in the car, I know you were just trying to be... nice," he says, giving me a half smile. I roll my eyes but can't resist the face he's giving me, and crack a small smile.
"At least you were trying to be nice for once. That's definite progress," he adds sarcastically. I let out a chuckle.
"We can't stay here all night," I say, my smile fading. I'm starting to feel adrenaline pump through my veins, knowing that we are only a few moments away from bashing some poor guy's head in.
Ash lets out a sigh, "Man, I wish we could," he says. His eyes meet mine. We stare at each other, the black sky with the white dots framing the upper half of our bodies for what seems like forever. He gives me a small grin that looks rather pitiful, to be quite honest. I decide to break the tension.
"We need to go. Come on," I say, not waiting for him to answer. I turn on my heels and walk away. I glance at the factory building, and see two small figures standing by the door, both men. That will be too easy. I check myself before I get any closer making sure all the weapons are at my side. One long sword, one short sword, and two daggers are attached to my mission outfit, covered by my black cloak. I look behind me one more time. Ashton is on his laptop with his eyebrows furrowed, like he is confused. He sets his laptop down on the top of the vehicle, and jogs over to me. I hold in a laugh when the idiot almost trips over his own two feet, while proceeding towards me.
"There are no security systems in the building," he says, worried.
"Wait, what?" I question.
"Yeah, I checked it like thirty times; there's no security."
"Well then, the guards must be great fighters," A look of worry crosses his face. "Be careful in there."
"Really?" The fact that he doubts me extremely pisses me off.
"Men have died in there before."
I pause before answering, then smirk.
"Well then it's a good thing I'm not a man," I say before striding away from him towards the guards.
